Christmas music!

So it's taken a while and I don't really know how I got here, but all of a sudden I just can't stop posting about Christmas stuff (ah!). But of course, this is a good thing. So in light of Christmas and loveliness and funness I thought I'd use today to share some of my favorite Christmas songs, so here goes:

#1. Okay well I realize as I'm writing the first one, this list may me a combination of favorite CDs/songs whereas my overall favorite of all is Harry Connick Jr.'s When My Heart Finds Christmas CD. My favorite songs on the CD are "Sleigh Ride" and "Let it Snow" but overall the whole CD is amazing! How can you not love Harry and his crooner ways?! Ah! So if you haven't heard it, I wholeheartedly recommend you do so, now!

#2. Okay and the second "song" on my list is yet again a whole CD, bear with me people. For as long as I can remember I have loved the story of the Nutcracker. If you don't know what it is, ooooh you are so missing out. Granted I doubt you don't know the music because I know you've heard at least one song in a commercial 0r playing in any department store. So with that said, The Nutcracker Suite is the CD I play nonstop (after Harry's of course) during the holiday season while I clean and wrap presents and imagine I'm Clara waltzing across the stage...ah it's glorious.

#3. Although she has most recently regained the spotlight as the oh so conniving Wilhemina on Ugly Betty, Vanessa Williams has one hell of a Christmas CD. Her CD Star Bright is just so pretty you can't help but to glide when you walk (okay I exaggerate a bit, I just saw Enchanted and can't help thinking of waltzes, bear with me here). And her rendition of "Hark the Herald Angel Sing" is probably one of my favorites to sing to, it's just so happy!

#4. Well I couldn't well have a Christmas song list without the one of the most popular amazingly girly fantastic holiday songs there are ,Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas. Her CD may not be one of my favorites, but maaaan there is no way you can't sing your heart out to the song.

Well those are my top of the crop Christmas song picks, what are yours? Got any recommendations of Christmas CD's or songs that I just have to hear? Please share, I love hearing new songs! Woo!

only 20 days 'til Christmas! :)

Oh I love "sleigh ride" too and these days it seems to be stuck in my head like an earworm.

Also like every version of "deck the halls" ever sung.

Those are my favorites too! I also go for more classical stuff...Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, etc. And I've heard a couple of Coldplay Christmas songs (not sure if they're from an album or just singles) and they are surprisingly fantastic.

Take 6 (a capella/Jazz/Christian sextet) is a terrific add you may not know about. They won several jazz Grammy's a few years ago.

I'm really into the classic Sinatra type Christmas stuff. But Kenny Chesney and Chris Isaak both put out good christmas cds within the last few years that I listen to a lot.

Awe, I love MC's All I Want For Christmas, not only because it's Mariah Carey and the bestest song ever, but because now it's associated with the best movie ever, Love Actually. Awe, the little boy's story was so cute.

I want to get married in December so that I can play M.C.s "All I Want For Christmas Is You"!!! Top, top, top favorite! I also enjoy Hanson's Christmas album, my fave off of that is "What Christmas Means to Me". Michael Bolton's "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and this year I discovered Otis Redding's Christmas sons!! I was only able to find 3, but they ROCK big time! Also Christina Aguilera's rendition of "This Christmas"... Um, I *heart* Christmas music...
