I'm a Christmas spaz.

Part of me is like "ohmygod I can't believe Christmas Eve is two weeks from today" while the other part of me is like "ohmygod can it be Christmas already?" Clearly I just can't make up my mind on how I feel about any of this.

Nonetheless I have been all about getting in the holiday spirit lately and it is all sorts of loverly. I've listened to the Nutcracker no less than fifteen times, I've decorated our apartment with all sorts of Christmas things, we're getting our tree tonight (and decorating it tomorrow night), I've gotten my awesome outfit together for our Tacky Sweater party next weekend, I've re accustomed myself to having a crush on all things Harry Connick, Jr. Christmas and I've diligently watched my favorite holiday movies.

Basically I am so ready for Christmas.

Until I'm not because there are about six people left for me to get presents for IN ONE WEEKEND. I mean what? I have to be insane. Why do I procrastinate these things? I know what I want to get people I just have to get the motivation together and do it already!

So um yes, I'll be one of those crazies out shopping this weekend with Matt in tow and credit card sheepishly hiding away in my wallet not wanting to be used except for on sparkly dresses for myself when really I need to focus on my Christmasness.

So please send your good shopping and Christmas vibes my way because I have a feeling I am really going to need it!

And because a post with a picture is just fun let's enjoy some humor from someecards shall we?

And what are your weekend plans? Are you all done shopping like a prepared person or are you scrambling around for gifts like me? Do tell, I'm curious.

happy weekend!

Scrambling. :(

But it's totally okay because I am spirited and such!

I am totally still scrambling around, it's awful! Christmas just doesn't feel like christmas this year. I don't know if it's because i live in texas and have only had to use a jacket like 3 days this month, or if it's because we didn't decorate since we are going to be out of town. Either way... I'm not ready for it at all!

I planned really well for the big presents (mum, dad, boyfriend...) but now I feel like they are uneven between people so I need to find some 'stocking-fillers' somewhere, somehow...

I get paniced and overly perfectionist with these things... at least I have finished my cards in time! Not sure they will reach Oz, Canada and the US by christmas though :/ Maybe New Year!

Zaraya said...

I saw this blog through Blogs of Notes and I can't agree with you more. I waited last minute to buy EVERYONE gifts, so atleast you got started a bit early. This upcoming week is going to be crazy and hectic but so worth it when everyone sees the goodies Santa put under the tree for them. :)

I think this is the first year I don't have to scramble..it's all falling into place very nicely. We agreed no gifts. That takes a huge burden off, and allows for us to really just enjoy the season, do some baking, some decorating, some party going...but no crazy shopping. This is the first year we've done this. I thought I would miss the craziness of the shopping, but so far I'm really enjoying its absence. We will see though if I don't get the last minute jitters in the few days right before Christmas when I'm normally pulling my hair out trying to get the last minute details on gifts taken care of.

Merry Christmas to you! Enjoy every moment of it :)

Since one of my hobbies is browsing Amazon and Chapters online for the latest books, I ordered my gifts a month in advance. And for the rest I ordered boxes of gourmet cookies.

Just came across your blog! I read this post and loved it! Tried to find a follow button but couldn't....

I am like you! So ready for Christmas....knowing it is only 2 weeks away kinda makes me sad! But I can't wait. I have actually been working on getting last minute gifts this weekend too! So I am just like you! I spent last night watching the Santa Claus 1 and 2... :) I listen to Christmas music all day, my first home with the hubs is completely decked out! Even my bathroom is too!!! I just love this time of year!

Just found you on blog of note and your most recent post made me smile- I do the same every year for Christmas and my birthday...the passage of time and our perceptions of it are a funny thing. Periodically I also question whether a day feels like that day..."I cant believe it's Monday today, it doesn't feel like a Monday, it feels more like a Friday!" Merry Christmas, great blog! Emilie

I'm still needing to get some presents for the boys and one for hubby, but gosh, I just can't seem to find the motivation. And Christmas cards? Nope. I guess not this year. Having too much fun playing on the farm I guess...

Buying for my dad is a NIGHTMARE! He is the guy who never has a list and dislikes almost every single gift come Christmas eve... So, the five of us have resolved to coffee cups and socks! Hehe... Much deserved! I love my Daddy, but I wish he'd help us out a little. ;)

Congrats on the Blogs of Note thingy, whatever you call it... a distinction, maybe? I don't know. Anyway, if all else fails, you can always do what I do: Get chocolate for everyone. No-one says no to chocolate. :)

~Mentally sends Christmas vibes your way~ All the best of luck. I'm usually prepared, but a bit of scrambling will be done because I've had a little pinch in the wallet region, so I can fully identify...

Katelin,

Came across you because you were a "blog of note."
1) Congrats!
2) I too have a huge crush on Harry Connick Jr. (Him in "Hope Floats" pretty much confirmed that.) And I also love that movie "The Holiday." Have you seen "The Last Holiday" with Queen Latifah? That's another fave of mine. It's not super Christmasy or anything, but it's fantastic!
Anyway, great blog!

I am still scambling like you, I have 2 out of 3 my family members present's but not any thing for my friends. It's so stressful. I was going to make cookies for all my friends but don't nearly have enough time.

P.S i like your Words to Live By, I love grey's anatomy! I got behind though, so I haven't see the new ones, I am almost done with season 5.
