Our Honeymoon: Winos in Wine Country.

So kids, I've been married for five months. FIVE FREAKING MONTHS. I mean no, how was my wedding five months ago? Yeah I don't know either.

Anyhoo, I clearly covered everything about the wedding (with the exception of professional pictures here and there) but I realized I only talked about the honeymoon in two measely posts. I mean we were there for two weeks and all I talked about was the food and the view, what is wrong with me people???

So to celebrate five fabulous months of marriedom I thought I'd share some more pictures from the honeymoon and this time I'm taking you to Chianti.

One of the main stipulations I made before we left for our honeymoon was that I wanted us to do a wine tour while we were staying in Florence. I mean hello, have you seen Under the Tuscan Sun? I needed some vineyards and wine tastings and yeah, I needed it. And alas we got it. We found a day tour that would take us to a castle in Chianti where we could tour the land and try the wines and my goodness people, it was magic. Pure Italian vino magic.

the castle. I mean really, we were at
a castle people. swoooon.

who knew a castle would be so cute.

and gorgeous!

Matt and I in the wine cellar.

I think these bottles have been there a while.

Matt trying to push some barrels,
because that's what you do right?

mmmm tasty garlic bread.

salud!

the castle's logo: the black rooster.

the view from the top.
see that wine bottle vineyard in the distance?
amazing right??

Matt carrying our final loot.

And that my friends is Chianti in a nutshell. Don't you just want to hop on a plane and go right this second? Because I do!

Our Honeymoon: A View from the Top.

In our two weeks in Italy we went to four different cities(Venice, Cinque Terre, Florence and Rome) and in almost all of those cities we got a nice view from the top. And every city was gorgeous (obviously) and we could hardly stop taking pictures.

So for today's post I figured, why write when I can just share because who really wants to read on a Friday anyways. So sit back and enjoy the views:

St. Mark's Square:
looking down on St. Mark's Square.

and another view from the top.

Cinque Terre:
hiking the path.

I could look at this every day.

Florence:
looking down from the Duomo.
such a tiring climb, but so worth it.

Florence is so lovely.

Rome:
the view from our terrace in Rome.

Oh how I miss it all and it's Italian fabulousness.

Have you seen any lovely views lately?

happy weekend!

Our Honeymoon: Food Porn.

So yeah remember how I got married and then Matt and I went to Italy for two weeks on our honeymoon? Of course you do because I haven't really stopped talking about it, but I've yet to blog about it. So I figured since I finally covered the wedding recap (and holy crap today is our two monthoversary, where is the time going people?!) I'd do some sort of honeymoon recap as well, because HELLO it was freaking ITALY.

So I was going to break it down by cities but I figured that might get boring so I'm starting off with one of my favorite parts of our honeymoon, THE FOOD. I mean yes of course I loved the romance of the country and the wine and being with my husband and the history but holy crap people THE FOOD. It can't really be described so instead I figured I'd share some pictures of some of our favorite meals because HELLO THE FOOD (do you get my point?).

So have a napkin ready, you might drool a bit (I mean I know I will and I was the one who freaking ate this stuff!)

Matt's meal on the left:
pork escalope and spaghetti, interesting.

Mine on the right:
Hands down my fave meal of our honeymoon,
cheese pizza with white asparagus and a fried egg.
pure heaven.

bruschetta? yes please!

pasta carbonara,
I never knew such a delicious meal
could exist.

seafood pasta anyone?

Matt's meal up top:
pasta primavera

My meal on the bottom:
spinach risotto, holy crap was it delicious.

SIX cheese pizza? SIX different
kinds of cheese?? yes freaking please.
and Matt thoroughly enjoyed
his prosciutto and cheese pizza as well.

gelatto? yes please!
we had gelatto every single night. mmmmmm.

My meal on the left:
cauliflower penne pasta

Matt's meal on the right:
a ginormous calzone.

My meal up top:
LASAGNA, yummmm.

Matt's meal on bottom:
oh cheesy cheesy penne.

Hungry? Because I am.

Also, I really hope that I don't get a whole bunch of spammers and weird searches now because I said 'porn', haha. Then again that would be interesting and probably disappointing to them when it's just a bunch of yummy food.

But really, back to THE FOOD, it was magical, like an orgasm in my mouth (yep apparently I am asking for the spammers today, haha). I don't think I've ever enjoyed food as much as I did on our honeymoon and I cannot wait to go back one day.

What's the best food you've ever had?

happy thursday!
