Oh my Wii.

So remember when I got my Wii and blogged about it like every day and couldn't stop talking about it? Yeah well I still love it and still love playing it as often as I can. But last night, I learned that I should probably pay more attention when I do.

What am I talking about you ask? Well if you saw my tweet you would already know, but I was in the midst of playing some Wii bowling while Matt was doing an online class and somehow I had moved further back in the room than where I thought I was so when I swung my arm back to bowl I smacked my hand right into the door knob.

Oh yeah right into the door knob. I immediately curled up and fell to the ground holding on to my hand while I laughed and cried and laughed so more so that it wouldn't hurt as much. All the while Matt was trying to hold back his laughs but ultimately failed but still asked me if I was okay.

The best part, I eventually got off the ground and finished up my game, haha. I had to! Granted I am like 40 points away from losing my pro status so finishing the game didn't really help me I was just determined to finish. Moral being: I'm an idiot, haha.

Actually the real moral of the story is look where you are when you're playing the Wii. I've already knocked the lamp before so it was only a matter of time before I actually hurt myself. Now I just hope I don't do it again.

And the best part, I am so not alone in my injury. @theotheragentm actually sent me this site, Wii Have a Problem, which basically is a blog of people's Wii accidents, haha. Some people have broken windows, lamps and given each other black eyes! It's ridiculous. I guess I'm glad I only hurt my hand temporarily, haha.

oh dear Wii you are so awesome
but so dangerous

Do you have any Wii related injuries or accidents? Or heck any video game injury or accident? Please tell me I'm not alone in my ridiculousness.

happy wednesday!

One night I played way too much tennis on my wii and I could barely lift up my arm the next day because my shoulder was hurting so much.

The Wii can be addicting!

I've never been injured but like Auburn Kat, I pretty much can't move the day after an intense game of Wii.

it's not really an injury, but it could have been: my younger sister (she's 14) was bowling in a tournament my uncle had set up for the family christmas between almost 20 people. she had been going strong until she swung her arm back and the wiimote flew out of her hand and smacked into the wall before sliding to the ground behind a couch. if she had swung it a few inches lower, our brother would have had a pretty nasty wound on his face as he was sitting on the couch.

she's learned to keep the wriststrap on since then.

I bet that hurt like hell. Don't you hate it when you do things like that? And try to break any windows or knock over laptops.

There's videos of people throwing their Wii controller through their TVs playing some sort of baseball game.

Hilarity.

Well not so much for them

I threw my back out playing the Wii over Christmas. My limited range of motion caused me to fall down a flight of concrete stairs. Then I got food poisoning. The food poisoning was unrelated to the Wii-playing, but it was still pretty awful.

Silllly girl! I hope your hand is recovering. And umm...way to be a champ and finish the game. Fo'real.

At the bar, I was playing Wii Golf...and was totally bored...but totally into it. And I ended up going in for my swing-and totally chucked the remote all the way across the room. The remote didn't work after that. And no one would let me play anymore. Sighhh.

No painful accidents but we quickly learned that drunk Wii at 4am requires us to clean off the coffee table first. This happened after many Wii bowling swings where people broke glasses and bottles. Lucky no one cut themselves!

You are a trooper to finish the game! I would have remained on the ground laughing and crying and whining about my bruised hand. Then I would have demanded B cater to my every need for the next few weeks. Of course, he would have stopped after the first hour.

My husband hits me all the time on accident. It's ridiculous actually. We'll be playing tennis, and he'll reach for the ball and just whack me. Hope your hand feels better soon.
