On Wednesdays we wear PINK.

I thought this title was only appropriate because well it's Wednesday, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Mean Girls is a pretty freaking fabulous movie. And not only do we wear PINK on Wednesdays we occasionally give stuff away and talk about stuff that matters (and somehow we = me, but you get the point).

Anyhoo, a couple of weeks ago Hanes emailed me asking me to blog about their efforts with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and pshaw of course I said I would, so here's what Hanes is doing this month:

Hanes has recently launched and online Design and Buy program that allows visitors to design their own T-shirts adorned with messages hope, love and support. Additionally Hanes will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from all custom T-shirts from the Design and Buy program to Komen for the Cure.

Additionally for the second year Hanes will offer its PINK Collection of panties, bras, socks and tees designed to create awareness for the cause. As a part of the collection, Hanes spokeswoman and film star Melina Kanakaredes has designed three T-shirts meant to inspire and encourage others to join her in the fight against breast cancer.

Hanes was nice enough to send me one of the shirts Melina designed and I'm only too proud to help support the cause and wear my shirt with pride:

HOPE will save the tatas! :)

And now for a giveaway, weeee! Hanes is going to give one of my fabulous freaders a shirt from their Pink collection as well.

To enter do the following:
Leave a comment with your inspiring or encouraging message for Breast Cancer Awareness. It can be something simple or silly even I just want to hear it. And make sure your email address is entered so I can contact you if you win.

For an extra entry tweet about the giveaway and leave the permalink in a separate comment.

I'll pick a winner next Wednesday, October 27th at 4pm PST.

So let's work together to save the tatas people and embrace the PINK!

Update: Congrats to Amanda for wining the giveaway!

happy wednesday!

*Hanes gave me a free shirt and another to give away and didn't tell me what the heck to write so it's all my own and of course I'd be writing about such a good cause anyways, so back on up FTC.

Nothing funny or witty to say, but this is a cause dear to my heart. My own MIL was a breast cancer survivor, although it lead to other issues and she is no longer with us. I support this cause and donate as often as possible. I wear my pink breast cancer ribbon socks often and hope our efforts will help others in the future. Thanks for putting this out there for others to see.

My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor... and a lung cancer survivor... and a colon cancer survivor. She is BY FAR the strongest, most amazing woman I know and she inspires me everyday to be a better person. I have breast cancer awareness plates, a magnet for my car, an air freshener on my rear view mirror. I'll buy anything just because they donate to the cause. I guess what I'm saying is that these woman that are battling this disease rock! And I'm inspired!

Well, I can't take credit for this but at our Susan G. Komen race earlier this year there was a "Hakuna MaTATAs" shirt that I just loved, that a group of guys was wearing during the race. I just love that they were so supportive and fun at the same time.

My message is simple but meaningful (at least in my opinion):

Say ta-ta to breast cancer!

I love that Hakuna MaTATA's idea! Just like the "I <3 Boobies" bracelets a bunch of Frat guys on my campus are wearing and selling to support the cause. I think its awesome that guys are also lending a hand- breast cancer is often seen as a "women's issue" but really is a "human issue".

I think the greatest ad campaigns are the ones that get men involved. Because yeah, we know women are insanely invested in fighting breast cancer. We love our women, and our boobs! But the "i love boobies" bracelets and shirts are funny and let men get in on the support too.

On the radio the other day they played a song to remind people to do regular breast exams, but it was put to the tune of a rap called something like "feel your boobies."

love this post and giveaway!

i think everyone should be aware of how important it is to be checked and to feel your boobies regular to make sure nothing is there. :)

What a great program. My saying would be "I keep my girls safe (and by "girls," I mean boobs"

Love the shirt!

Awesome giveaway for a very worthy cause. Love that Hanes is a company with affordable products. Nothing irks me more than seeing a $100 pink gadget and seeing that only $1 will be donated.

I saw the saying check your bumps for lumps the other day and that made me laugh!
