Bringing you the most important news of course...

So apparently I should have written the Lakers a letter. Granted I don't know if it would have helped since the letter I wrote to the Dodgers went unattended to, pshaw, LA sports teams you drive me crazy.

In other news unrelated to sports, did anyone catch this week's People cover?

Does anything strike you as odd about this cover? Ummm maybe the caption perhaps? Not that she wasn't a meth addict or anything but seriously, it's so in your face. When Nicole Richie had Harlow the cover wasn't "I used to be skin and bones and drive backwards on freeways, until I became a mom, Harlow saved me!" Yeah, don't think so. I don't know it's just weird to me how People went about her story, but I guess she's okay with it. So congrats to Jodie.

And in good samaritan celebrity news Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy marched in DC for Green our Vaccines with her autistic son, Evan. Seriously, I love them. I love them all. Jim and Jenny together are so cute and her son is precious and I love that they do so much for special needs children and autism and everything in between, they seriously rock.

And in movie news we have a preview for He's Just Not That Into You. Remember when I saw it back in April and loved it? Well apparently it's not coming out until October now. But still, the preview is out and I highly recommend you all check it out, it's a good one.

And in WTF news a black watermelon was auctioned off in Japan for a mere $6,100. Yeah take that in. A watermelon. But apparently that's nothing because last month a pair of "Yubari" cantaloupe melons sold for $23,500. Gah. Those must be some damn good fruit is all I have to say.

In jump for joy news, it's Friday! Wee! Squee! Woo! Ta da! It's finally here. Don't ask me why, but this has been one long ass week and I'm so glad it's almost over. And the weekend? Ah, the weekend. Full of gorgeous weather and lots of plans, I can hardly contain myself (only 8 hours left, haha).

Hope you all have a most fantabulous weekend!

happy friday!

I still like that cover better than the one with Heidi in a veil...What is wrong with her??

It's funny that you bring up Nicole Richie because she was in rehab for heroin. I don't get it either, probably because Jodie hasn't been a star or cover worthy in over a decade.

honestly? i think the only reason they put her on the cover is because she used to be a meth addict. nobody really cares about them like that anymore. when dj had her kids, she didn't get the cover of people.

have a fabulous weekend!!!

Poor Stephanie Tanner!

Clay Aiken is really starting to creep me out too - I see his goofy looking face in the corner of People there!

I agree with LBIC - former child star turned drug addict turned mommy? That's why.

Also, I totally grabbed this and camped out in a corner of CVS last night to read the article. Eh.

How does Jodie Sweetin even merit the cover of People? I mean, I could see her on OK!, but PEOPLE? Don't they have anything better to write about?

this week has been super draggy for me too dude! i am pumped the weekend is finally here!

so cool you got to see a pre-screening for that movie- how did you swing that? ive seen previews and read the book and cant wait to see it!

have a good weekend!

Everyone knows about Nicole's past problems so she will sell mags regardless. Not everyone knows about Jodie's so they have to make it bold to catch people's attention.

That movie actually does look funny, and has a hell of a cast!
I have a lot of respect for what Jenny McCarthy is doing. I used to work with a girl with autism, and there is so little support out there for the parents, which few people know.

aww - I wish I had known about that protest/march!

I'm surprised they gave Jodie Sweetin the cover at all! I mean, what has she done since Full House, besides meth?

Dude, you make a very good point about Stephanie, i mean, jodie, in regards to her coverage versus Nicole Richie's pregnancy. Not cool! Leave Stephanie alone!!! oh man, i love full house too much!

I would have to agree with the cover of the magazine!

Full House was one of my FAVORITE SHOWS!!!!!!!!!

oh, I can't wait to see that movie :) and yes, I think it's a strange people cover, and I think she's a strange child star (ahem, meth addict).

I hope YOU have a great weekend :) It looks like Jim Carrey cut his hair and this makes me happy!

I am kind of in love with the whole Jim Carrey/Jenny McCarthy couple thing. I want to be their friend. And maybe stalk them a little.

I thought the exact same thing about the cover of People! It made me sad. I was all, "Wow, her child is probably going to see this someday. Lame."

What a grand way to show her baby to the world for the first time, right? :( She seems like a peach, anyway; it's too bad that they are using the meth thing to sell the magazine and not the fact that she's a child star who is now happy and settled.

Your Nicole Richie comparison is brilliant, though! Seriously, why are they so forgiving of some, and then so brutal to others? Hmmm.

it is kinda weird... but I guess b/c she's a d (or maybe lower?) list celebrity they need a shocking title to go with the article? who knows.

LOL i was thinking the same thing when I read that People on the plane today. I'm tempted to get in a cab, drive over to the Full House house, and take a picture with me holding up that issue with Stephanie Judith Tanner!!! btw i'm commenting from San Fran (like that means anything! hahaha)

Jim and Jen were in DC and I didn't know, oh poo! And thanks for the update on He's Just Not that into you. I didn't even know they were making that into a movie!

ok so, you were not the only one that was weirded out by people's cover. yeah she did meth, but that was a long time ago, why emblazen it on the cover? oh, thats right, to sell mags.
