The one where I touched Matt Damon’s sweat and other celebri-tales

I take kickboxing. I like to work out my aggression on punching bags.

Apparently, so does Matt Damon.

Three years ago I was having a particularly stressful day and a particularly vicious round of punching and kicking at my old gym in Manhattan. It was the middle of the day and the gym was pretty empty, which is how I like it because I’m uncoordinated and look absurd doing physical activity. Cut to me being instantly frustrated when a guy in a baseball hat and his trainer started using the punching bag hanging right next to mine.

“There are OTHER punching bags,” I thought angrily.

I kept punching. At some point I stopped for some water and looked up, locking eyes with the guy at the next punching bag, and then immediately scrambling to stop my eyes from falling out of my head. Matt Damon! I was boxing next to Matt Damon!

I should note that I am hideously unsmooth in situations that involve celebrities (and lots of other situations as well), especially celebrities with whom I’d love to do naked activities. I didn’t know what to do, so I just kept punching. Punching harder and faster and freaking out in my head, coherent things like “Matt punching Damon boxing trainer gym me Matt!!!” I tired myself out pretty quickly with the furious punching and was eventually too sore and winded to continue. And I probably creeped him the hell out, so he soon moved onto another part of the gym.

Just as I was walking away, I saw that he had left his towel on the floor next to the punching bags. I, of course, picked it up, thinking it would be nice to put it in the used towel bin for him. I do nice things for Matt Damon!! As soon as I picked it up I started thinking “I’m touching Matt Damon’s sweat. I could probably sell this on eBay.”

Don’t worry, I didn’t.

When I gushed about the event (yes, seeing Matt Damon in person is an EVENT) to my mom later that night she was all disappointed, asking why I didn’t say something clever to him like, “wanna go?” while pointing to the boxing ring.

Other celebri-tales:

1. Mary Kate Olsen and I have the same birthday (Ashley Olsen too, I know, I know, the twin thing). I think this small fact should be enough for her to do something nice for me, like pay off my student loans or buy me an around the world plane ticket. So far it hasn’t happened. What has happened is her shopping at Williams Sonoma and me being her sales associate. I didn’t even know it was her when I was walking over, because I had spent two and three quarter minutes glancing back and forth from her ridiculously tiny ankles to her 4+ inch leopard print heels thinking, “how does someone with such small ankles manage to walk around in such tall shoes? How has she not fallen over? Is she going to fall over? She’s standing awfully close to a lot of breakable dishes.”

When I finally did go over there with my “Hi! Are you finding everything okay?” I almost peed myself. MICHELLE TANNER! I then helped her pick out thousands of dollars worth of merchandise for some party she was having that involved buying copious amounts of pink decorating sugar.

I was, however, smooth enough not to mention to her that "hun, with ankles that size there’s no way you eat anything that has pink decorating sugar on it.”

2. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has tattoos all over his arms that are either new or airbrushed out of everything I’ve seen him do. Oh, I know this because he’s a member of the gym I currently go to in Southern California. Yeah, that’s right. I used to box with Matt Damon and now I lift weights with The Rock. What? I can’t tell people that? It’s called exaggerating. Okay, fiiiineeee, it’s lying. But no one knows that (except all of you, so shhhh).

Having learned my lesson from gawking at Matt Damon and almost dislocating my shoulder by punching so hard in his presence, I kept surprisingly cool during my encounter with The Rock. I kept lifting my 5 and 8lb weights while he did acrobatic pull-ups and curled weights bigger than my head. I must admit, a tiny part of me wanted to say “hey, can you bench me?” Just to see if he’d be all “sure girl, lay down.” But I’m classier than that (read: too shy and awkward).

3. One time my roommate in college saw Mr. Big from Sex and the City at Kmart. Yes, this isn’t my celebri-tale, but six-degrees-of-blah-blah-you-get-it. Oh, and in case the information interests you, he was buying a mop.

4. I once saw Tara Reid on the street. This was post-breast implants and pre-“I had my plastic surgery re-done because I looked ridiculous.”

Sadly (luckily?), I’ve never seen a celebrity for whom the risk of harassment charges/embarrassment has been worth verbally acknowledging that I know who they are and that I adore them. Like, say, Matthew Perry, or anyone from the cast of The West Wing. Which is why you’ve never flipped through US Weekly and seen “Crazed Blogger Attempts to Get Piggy Back Ride from Martin Sheen” as a headline. Sigh. Someday…

Hey Gorgeous Footsters, Julie Q here filling in for Katelin on this mighty fine Thursday. Katelin SAID shes going to North Carolina today, but I really think she's secretly competing on America's Next Top Model Cycle 11 in an undisclosed location! We shall see.. we shall see...

Are you all ANTM fans?? Cos I am.. and I'm LOVING the fact that they're in NYC this season. Paulina Porizkova is going to fit in with the judges quite well! She's quite fiesty and doesn't seem to talk about herself too much (aka "why Tyra let her on the show!") But I won't say who got kicked off (cos I know ANTM is hanging out on a couple of DVR shelves at the moment). I WILL tell you that next week is Makeovers!

Now on to some other silly and fabulous stuff..

• MK & Ashley Olsen are coming out with a Coffee Table Book called Influence. In a statement Ashley said it will include "the most interesting, challenging, creative people we know — the ones who helped pave the way for us and our generation" Awesome. I myself am TOTALLY psyched to blow at least $40 on a book featuring a bunch of people whose success I will never achieve (unless I come up with a lip gloss that lasts for 24 hrs). They should just call the book "We're loaded, fabulous & bored."

• Why is Valerie Bertonelli so hot right now? She's been on every single important news outlet I've come across in the past 24 hrs (well the important ones like people.com... perez..etc) Translation from all this? Lose 40 lbs and you'll be more interesting too! She does look pretty great, and Kirstie wasn't having that so she broke up with J-Craig.

• Violet Affleck, you got some competition coming your way! Meet Harlow Richie-Madden, a cute addition to Hollywood's baby prestigious club. Awww I'm just kidding, I know Katelin is very fond of little Affleck, which is why she should come visit me in Boston and we can go stalk Violet & Jennifer Garner b/c she's filming a movie with Matthew McConaughey here! Sorry guys, all I got is the People mag cover which is posted all over the place.. damn People magazine for beating my $1 million dollar bid for exclusive rights. Blerg.

Heads Carolina, Tails California.

So really I'm not a huuuuge country song lover or anything but after going to school in Ohio for four years I did learn to love it. And the song "Heads Carolina, Tails California" by Jo Dee Messina is seriously one of my favorites. For one, it's so dang upbeat you can help but want to dance or sing a long. And two, my friend Jen who got me to like country in the first place currently lives in North Carolina and I, obviously, am in California...awwww. So basically it's one of our favorite songs and has been put 0n a mix CD or two...obvi.

And why am I talking about this do you ask? Wellllllll I flipped heads and I'm going to North Carolina tomorrow!!!! I am so incredibly excited since I haven't seen Jen in almost a year, and really...that's kind of ridiculous. She's one of my best bffs ever and I truly miss being able to see her (along with all of my other amazing college friends) every day by walking into our rooms that were seconds apart...okay need to stop the college recap...back to the point.

I'm leaving tomorrow!!! eeeeee!!! So with that said...time to get all my work done now! weeee.

Hollywood is treating me well.

Now without further ado I am pleased to announce that some of my favorite Hollywood men are back at work, and I couldn't be happier. So let me get right to it...

First we have my main man Keanu in his sure to be cheeseball over the top cop movie, Street Kings, that probably won't compare to his days as Jack Traven, but we all know I'll probably still watch it. Now from the preview I don't really think it'll be that good, but it does have Chris Evans, Common and Forrest Whitaker in it, so that's at least a little promising. Anyhoo you can just watch the preview and decide for yourself. But as my friend Courtney said "we must support Keanu in all his acting decisions", haha, and you probably should too.

And now to my second most favorite guy in Hollywood, the ever awesome and always fantastic Joshua Jackson. Now as you all know ABC has toyed with my emotions several times about his return to television, most specifically to one of my favorite shows, Grey's Anatomy. And apparently after much debate and the end of the strike, Josh will no longer be cast in the show. HOWEVER, big however. Josh has officially started shooting his own show!!!! Own show! Hear that?! A series?! Another show to take over my life. But good gracious I cannot wait! Eeeee. Anyhoo, here are some pics of Josh on the set in Canada....so excited!

And as if Keanu and Josh weren't enough excitement for one day, I just read that Matt Damon has officially signed on to do a fourth Bourne movie. Ah! Well I know I may be alone in the excitement here, but I really love those movies. Even if they are a little redundant sometimes (Matt calls them "The Bourne Redundancy", haha) I still love seeing Matt Damon kick ass.

Anyhoo, that's all I got for now. Hope that wasn't too much of a hot Hollywood overload, haha. Or maybe it's just me.

And the Oscar goes to....

So as you all know (unless you live in a cave...and if you lived there you probably aren't reading this...and I digress....), last night was the Academy Awards....ah! Heaven! Love! Basically my most favorite thing to watch, aaaaamazing. I wish I had done some live blogging, but alas there is no internet connection in the front room of my house, oh well. So instead I will write some of the thoughts that came to me while watching last night's events....here goes:

• Gary Busey....WTF?! That man is crazy. Seriously. Crazy. And why was he at the awards last night?! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, please direct yourself to this gem of a clip of Gary basically barging in on Ryan Seacrest's interview with my girl Jen Garner and Laura Linney. Poor Jen looked so scared, heck I would too. And where was Ben to protect her? Honestly Ben. Oh wait, that's right, Ben was f'ing Jimmy Kimmel, haha.
  
• Why is Jack Nicholson always at the Oscar's? Anyone? It's not a Laker's game Jack, but somehow the man is always front and center. I don't get it.
  
• And even more of a "why", Why the freaking A was Brad Renfro left out of the "In Memorium" montage?!?!? Although I was fighting off tears after seeing Heath I got pretty pissed when Brad was left out. Luckily I'm not the only one who noticed this and thought that the Academy's reason of "It's simply not possible to fit everyone in" just didn't cut it.
• Apparently all my ranting last week of one strap dresses just makes me look like an idiot. Since about nine women wore them last night, haha. Granted I didn't have problems with all of them. I absolutely loved Katherine Heigl's dress.
  
  
  

  As for an overall favorite dress, I don't think I really had one.
  I was a fan of Cameron Diaz's dress, although she really could have done more with her hair and I really didn't get why everyone was interviewing her, but oh well, cute dress:

• And let's not forget the men of the evening....

• And I absolutely loved the performance from the duo from Once. It was so sweet and amazing, and that song, ah, precious. And even better was their acceptance speech. Although Markéta Irglová got cut off, I was glad that John Stewart brought her back out to finish her speech, so wonderful.

All in all, there wasn't anything too big or surprising last night. John Stewart popped in some political jokes (Gaydolf Titler, haha, love it), some surprise winners (Tilda and Marion, woa, congrats) and lots of built in ads (ummmApple? Wii??). But of course I still loved it, I'm a sucker for the Oscar's. :)

And of course the moment you've all been waiting for....the winner of the mini-bity Oscar pool contest.... KIKI from Spaztastic Adventures of a DC Fashionate with a total of 6 out of 8 right. The next closest were Single and Jenn each with 5 each. Thanks to everyone who played!

So I was cleaning out my Facebook inbox and I came across this gem I got while still in college:

Guy I do not know who's Facebook picture is of him in a Borat-like swimsuit: I went to some random party at your school last year. I know [random basketball player I had never talked to before] if you know who he is. I talked to you for awhile and i was quite drunk and i'm thinkin you were too. Assuming you are the girl, after talking to you for awhile i forgot your name and you told, "My name i'm really really fucking hot and you wanna get on me." and i said, "no thats not your name." I asked [random basketball guy] to find out who the girl was. he came up with you, it may not be you. But if it was, well hello!

...yeaaaaaaa that definitely was NOT me buddy [and I did write him back to let him know this, haha]. But I definitely got a good kick out of this message though that's for sure. Because one, I have no idea how his basketball friend came up with my name when I had never talked to him and two, I am much more creative. I would have come up with something like "my name is pestario-cassaro-mossido-h

ernandes, pestario for short, pest for shorter....phooo!." [feel free to name that ridiculous movie, haha].

Anyhoo, that's about all I got today. Busy, busy at work today and cannot wait to sleep in tomorrow, hark!

I'm guilty.

So guilty. Slap me on the wrist. Put me in the corner. I deserve to be punished. Make me watch Heidi's dumb video again. I'm guilty.

What is I did, or didn't do in this case, you ask? Well. Let me explain.

As I have mentioned many, many times before. I heart movies. Heck, I more than heart, I adore, I love, I live for movies. Always have and probably always will. Therefore it only makes sense that the Academy Awards is like Christmas to me. I sit in front of my TV and watch all the red carpet interviews (on multiple channels), analyze who's wearing what, who's actually there, who needs to brush their hair, who's dress I'd love to wear...yeah you get the point. And then the real show begins. The awards, the presentations, the performances, ah! I love it all. I even fill out ballots, whether I'm at a friend's party or sitting at home watching it with my parents I love to make my guesses, it's part of the whole Oscar fun. So what am I guilty of? What's the whole point of this post?

I have seen a total of two of the nominated films this year. TWO. A big whopping TWO. Ah! Who am I!?!?! Well I've seen two out of the main ones and eight total. But still?! Ah! I wish I could just leave work today and go watch every movie nominated for anything all day for the next three days, that'd be sweet. But alas. I will not. I will simply have to rely on the fact that both Juno and There Will Be Blood were pretty schnazzy and are my only ins to voting this year, well that and the winners from every other awards show til now. But that's besides the point...

Where's the strap?

No really, where is it?!? First Vanessa Williams' stylist forgot to add a strap to create a fashion masterpiece and now Scarlett. WTF ladies?! Did your seamstress run out of fabric or did you purposely choose to give your dress an identity crisis? I know it's just screaming"Am I strapless dress or do I need another strap? I can't decide! Ah! Give me a mocha!"

And don't even get me started on her tattoo. Oh man. I hope it's fake, I really do. Just click on the picture for a bigger image and you'll see what I'm talking about. And don't get me wrong, I am a ScarJo fan (heck I just saw The Nanny Diaries...not half bad...but moving on), but I just think she needs a style check every once and a while. And these one strap dresses are basically driving me crazy!

Ah. Okay. Moving on. Sort of. Will Ferrell, I heart you. You crack me up. Even if your characters are all the same. But why, why did you wear this last night??

Now I'm not a fashion expert or anything, but ummm. Did you join Scientology? A Cult? A gospel choir? Really Will? Oh well. At least your commercials for Old Spice will keep me laughing with you...

Don't really have time to post today, it's a holiday weeeeeeeeee. So I'm off and about for a day of gymming, shopping, pedicuring and movieing. Love it.

Love: The Hills. I'm serious. That show is a sick addiction. I really can't help watching it and can't wait for a new season to come back.

Strongly dislike: That there isn't another strap. With another strap it would be a divine dress. Divine I say.

Desserty creations...yummm.

Last night as Matt and I were flipping through some recipes his mom had cut out, I started thinking about some of my own "recipes." The last time I revisited my college cooking creations I simply shared the meals... and what about desserts?!? How could I forget desserts?! I mean honestly, I basically lived off of sweets and chocolatey things so I thought I'd share two of the best creations and other recommendations of sugary sweetness. Enjoy.

So I know this sounds simple and you may have done it before, but by god it was fantastic on a cold day in Ohio. So check your pantry or cookie jar or in my case it was the fortunate days that the dining hall had edible looking treats, and grab yourself a chocolate cookie. Preferably one big enough to fill up a bowl. Now pop that bad boy in the microwave for oh 20 seconds (maybe a little longer, depends on how gooey you like your cookie) take it out, quickly scoop some vanilla ice cream (or FroYo). Now you can stop there if you want, or take it one step further and add some chocolate syrup. Then dive in and enjoy the chocolately fantasticness that is your now dessert....mmmmmmm.

Now this next "recipe" is super convenient for anyone still stuck in the dining hall or just doesn't feel like making a whole batch of treats. I present to you, Rice Krispie Treats express, sort of, haha. Basically all you need is a bowl, some Rice Krispies, some butter and marshmallows. I recommend adding the butter first and then however many Krispies you want and the gooier you want it the more mallows you need to add. Once you've added everything together, pop it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Take it out mix it up and if it needs more time pop it back in. Once everything is all mixed together, take a spoon (or fork, whichever you prefer) and dig in!

Popcorn.
Obviously this doesn't need much direction or explanation. Well besides the point that it isn't sugary...well it could be if you get some kettle korn. Popcorn is one of the best foods ever and a great distraction to studying a good partner to any lazy day in front of the TV. So get your butt up and go make some popcorn, regular or kettle. That is all :)

So I've been doing this list in intervals [part one, part deux] as I randomly think of them, so here goes my attempt at adding just a little bit more...

71. I didn't get my license until I was 20 (thank you dear friends who drove me around, I am forever grateful, haha).

72. I don't like driving (I still prefer to be a passenger)

73. I overuse the phrase "haha" waaaay too much (seriously, ask anyone I talk to online. Or heck check out past posts, it's a little ridiculous).

74. I said "hi" to Hugh Jackman once, and he said "hi" back (swoon).

75. My eyes are hazel green (and when I get mad or cry, they get even greener).

76. I once started a 10 page paper at 11 o' clock the night before it was due (and I got an A on it...how? I have no idea).

77. Dane Cook told me I was very polite (I told him he wasn't as tall as I imagined).

78. Raphael was my favorite Ninja Turtle (surprisingly not Michaelangelo).

79. When I was little I would tell people Michael Jackson was my boyfriend (I was so serious, that's the sad part).

80. I've never been in a physical fight (not counting the time a boy slapped me in third grade, so uncalled for).

81. I think Nyquil tastes good (it's just so fruity).

82. All of my favorite cereals are super healthy ones (Grape Nuts, Smart Start, Wheat Chex...yummmmm).

83. I went skinny dipping on Spring Break sophomore year of college (and I don't think I'll ever be doing it again, haha).

84. I've never bonged a beer (and I'm quite alright with that).

85. The only sports teams I actually care about are the Dodgers and USC football (Go Blue! Fight on!).

86. The fastest I ever ran a mile was in 14 minutes (clearly I am not a runner).


Well that's about all I got for now...maybe in two more months I'll finally finish this list, haha....who knows?

My thoughts through interpretative dance.

Okay really, how is it already Monday afternoon? Ah! Well not "ah!" more like ooooh? Also known as yes! Only a couple more hours left in the work day until I can head out to dinner and have some fabulous Mexican food (sweet!).

Anyhoo, moving on. I have some thoughts I'd like to share through the interpretative dance...and by interpretative dance I of course mean bullet points, so enjoy:

• Since when did little kid's basketball turn into such a contact sport?! I went to my twelve year old brother's game on Saturday and wow. There was face slaps, kids diving on the floor and a couple other injuries...it was like I was watching football instead, crazy.
  
• I'm almost 24. I need to remind myself this when I attempt to drink like I did when I was 22. Apparently I can no longer drink, do a shot and stay awake past 1 all in the same night. Saturday night I went out with Matt and a bunch of friends, it was great. I ordered the madris (even got a free one in there) and had a shot to end the night and apparently that's what it did. Because by the time we got home I passed out. Matt told me the next morning that apparently I woke up when he did at 3 talked to him and he left the room for a second and before he came back I was back asleep, haha. And I slept basically all day yesterday. Oh well, ce la vie.
  
• Josh Kelley's CD is fantastic! I finally got it on Saturday and have been listening to it non-stop. Ah. Magic. Love this man and his music. He has some of the best songs and lyrics ever. I mean really what woman wouldn't want to hear "If you want to be loved, I got it. And if you want to make love, I can do that too. And if you want to be touched in the right right way, flip on the lights so I can see my masterpiece tonight" or "I'm just ripples in your ocean, you're my tidal wave." [insert swoooooon]. Seriously. Love. So stop what you're doing and go buy it now! You won't regret it. Or just listen to some of the songs on his Myspace. Either way, you'll thank me for it later :)

• So the Grammy's were on last night. I watched parts of it in between commercials of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and John and Kate Plus 8. I have more to say about both of those shows over the Grammy's. Every time I flipped to the Grammy's it was another lackluster performance, I was not impressed. But thank goodness oh goodness the Oscar's (by far my favorite awards show of the year) is coming in two weeks! eeeee! As for EMHE, oh man. I was a teary mess last night. It was a single dad of four kids who lost a leg in Iraq. Oh yeah, that did it right there. Any time anyone shed a tear, I shed a couple more. But man I love that show. And as for JKP8. Wow. That show is one of the best forms of birth control I've ever seen. I don't know how my grandma managed seven kids all about a year apart, whereas this couple has twin 7 year olds and 3 year old sextuplets. Oh man. No siree, I could not do that. But the show was still fun to watch and man their kids are cute.
  

Well those are my thoughts of the day and I'm stickin to em. And how's your Monday going?

Oh Happy Day.

It's barely Friday and today is already turning out to be a fabulously amazing day.
Reasons being...

• Without getting too personal, something I thought was wrong has turned out to be okay and it's one of the best feelings ever.
• I got paid today. Woot.
  
• I have more vacation days than I thought. Big woot.
  
• It's nice and sunny outside today. Sunny=awesome.
  
• It's Friday!
  
• I have a fabulous weekend sort of planned with le boy and some friends. Wee!
• Ummmm. Joshua Jackson is making a return to television! On his own show. As a regular! Ah! Amazing! Fantastic! Woo!

Before I start this post let me give a little back story. In sixth grade I discovered poetry. I don't remember if it was forced upon me in school or what, but I was instantly in love. I loved reading it and even more I loved writing it. And all through middle school and high school whenever I had a crush on a boy, a fight with my parents, a good day with my friends or anything else memorable in my life, I turned it into a poem. I had a whole freaking book of them.

However, my poetry writing sort of faded away as I was in college and was instead replaced by keeping a journal. I really had no need for poems when I got there, I just wanted to remember everything as it happened and not as some rhyme fest of emotions.

But eventually that changed and I needed poetry again. I remember I went to a dance recital at school and with the programs they handed out this poem with it and I was inspired. Inspired to write something simple with meaning, something with unforced rhymes, something that would make other people think. So the next semester I signed up for poetry writing and had that poem taped to the inside of my binder the whole time....

Flash forward to three days ago when I was cleaning stuff up in my room and I found the poem, still taped to my binder looking over all the poems I wrote that year. And I still loved it. So no, I'm not sharing one of my poems but I will share the poem that inspired me. It's simple and almost sad, but it makes you think and that's what I like most about it. So here goes, hope you like it:

20 years on a tightrope

twenty years on a tightrope
under a canvas sky,
to please a crowd of green gorillas
while i walk and cry,
and nearly fall from dizziness,
and nearly die from loneliness,
but always seeking happiness,

I Heart TV.

So this weekend was a whole pile of laziness and relaxation mixed together with plenty of television, sleep and good food. In a nutshell, fantastic. After being the busy bee last weekend and being cursed with the plague, all I wanted to do this weekend was relax and hang out and sleep. And that's what I did.

And then this morning I realized exactly how much television I really watched and how many movies were viewed in pieces. It was awesome. So for blogging purposes let me give you my briefest recaps on some of the most random movies for one person to watch in a single weekend, here goes:

Down Periscope: Great movie. Kelsey Grammer, Lauren Holly, Rob Schneider and Harland Williams. Great cast already. Power hitters to the max, haha. Basically it's about some war games and Kelsey leads some dingy submarine with a ridiculous crew to prove "they can do it." And of course they prove it while making us laugh the whole way through. Best scene: Harland Williams doing whale impersonations, classic.

AFV: Yes. We watched America's Funniest Home Videos. Shame on me. I know. This show is horrible. But oh man. There was this one clip where a dog when soaring through the air flipping off of a couch, I was in tears I was laughing so hard. That and a there was a baby drinking water from a hose that was pretty dang adorable.

Run's House: Things I learned from Run's House.
1. Russel Simmons and Rev Run are brothers. (don't know how I didn't know that).
2. Rev Run is crazy, but ridiculously entertaining.
3. Russy is so freaking cute.
4. Apparently the way to move up in the world is to work for charities.
5. Kid Rock is actually kind of a funny person, funny in that he put a Hooters stickers on a Reverend's car, haha.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun: Um. Best. Movie. Ever. Basically if you haven't seen this movie, get up. Go to your local Blockbuster (or Netflix or whatever) and rent this movie. Just say it's Dirty Dancing meets Hairspray...sort of. But it has Sarah Jessica Parker and some cute guy who's only role was in this movie, haha. And basically ah. Amazing. I love it. Definitely in the top tier of 80's classics. If you don't believe me, just watch the best scene ever. *do note, it's the end of the movie*



What Women Want: Who knew Sarah Paulson was in this movie? And Judy Greer? Well the fact that Judy's in it didn't surprise me because she just pops up everywhere. But Sarah, I really only knew her from Studio 60 (ah tear), and not much else. But alas I was wrong.

Dick: Well I doubt many people have seen this movie, but I had the pleasure of watching it in theaters back in the day. It's with Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst and is basically a comedic spin on Watergate and Nixon and all that jazz. However re-watching it this weekend I discovered two actors in it that I had not noticed before....Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds! Whaaaaat? Will plays a pretty big part of Bob Woodward and I couldn't quite figure out Ryan's role, haha, but I was amused.

The Truman Show: I love this movie. I honestly think it's one of Jim Carey's best. If you don't know what this movie is. Go rent it. It's about a guy who has a whole show going about his life and he doesn't know. In a nutshell. It's so interesting to watch and basically know that it would never fly and how biblical it could be, crazy I know. Oh and fun celebrity fact discovered in this movie...Paul Giamatti is in it? Who knew? I sure didn't. This man is appearing everywhere lately.

The Patriot: I love this movie. It's so good. And so sad. And just soooo good. But really, even sadder. Watching Heath Ledger. I don't think we watched the whole thing because I was just so sad watching it. Even though it really is one of his best roles. So basically if you haven't seen this movie, you need to. Just be prepared to get all teary and see lots of gun fire, haha.

Deep Impact: Basically the world is ending. This movie came out the same time as Armageddon and not many people saw it. I think I saw this gem in theaters too, haha. Basically an asteroid is hitting the Earth and all hell breaks loose and a space ship has to blow it up and people have to live in caves and a tidal wave happens. There really is a lot here. And it has Elijah Wood, Lele Sobieski, Morgan Freeman and Tea Leoni, star studded cast really. So not really one you have to see, but it's good entertainment if you need it.

Benny and Joon: I know I said it earlier, but this may also be in contention for Best. Movie. Ever. Granted this could take the reins for best early 90's flick. Basically this movie stars Johnny Depp (extra brownie points right there), Mary Stuart Masterson (ummmFried Green Tomatoes...love this woman), and Aidan Quinn. If that right there doesn't scream money, I don't know what does. So the plot you ask? Mary is mentally ill, her brother Aidan has to take care of her and in comes Johnny to be the funny caring man she needs to liven her spirits. That's all you really need to know. It's such a cute movie and fun and very 90's and did I mention it has Johnny Depp in it??

So that's my weekend in a nutshell, haha. And to answer your questions, Yes I am a TV/Movie addict. No I did not watch all of these movies in their entirety, although I have before. Yes I recommend you go and watch them all. No I will not pay for your rental fees if you don't like them, haha.
