Ciao Bella!

A month and a half ago I mentioned on the Bridal Bloggettes how Matt and I were going to Italy for our honeymoon and a couple of days ago it got even closer to being a reality. As some of you probably saw my tweet or my Facebook status we booked our plane tickets!

Um, say what? Plane tickets to Italy have been purchased! Ahhhhhhhhhyaaaaaaay!

That was about my reaction. Well that and I told Matt to hold my hand as I clicked the 'purchase' button so I knew it'd be okay.

So yes we are headed to Italy, for thirteen days! Ahhhhhhhyaaaaaaay!

As for an itinerary so far this is what we have:
Fly into Venice.
Stay in Venice a couple of days.
Go on a gondola ride.
Take a train to Cinque Terra.
Possibly stay the night?
Enjoy the beach.
Take a train to Florence.
Stay in Florence/Tuscany a couple days.
Drink a lot of wine.
Take a train to Rome.
Stay a couple days.
Do some historical stuff.
Fly on home.

Sounds awesome right? Yeah well we're hoping it will be. We don't have anything else really planned our booked, just the flight but we're working on it. And all suggestions are totally welcome but since it's our honeymoon I know we'll just be doing a whole lotta nothing and relaxing and wine drinking (ooooh the wine, I can't wait....and I swear I'm not an alcoholic, haha).

So in about 5 months we'll be here...

And I cannot wait!!

happy thursday!

Nice! Will you be anywhere near Venice?? It's in Northern Italy. That's one of my dream vacations!

Whoops I got confused. I had to wikipedia Venice to make sure it was the right place I was thinking of and you already listed it. I just always refer to it as "the city under water" haha.

Enjoy yourselves! Florence is especially beautiful at night with a couple extra glasses of wine in you.

OMG, I am soooo excited for you guys!
You're gonna love Venice - it's just out of this world. A place you have to see yourself to believe it :)

Oh I am suitably jealous! Some friends and I went to Italy in college and had the best time. Plan on having extra time in Rome, you'll need it!

You can do all of this at the Venetian in Las Vegas. And see 451 Elvis impersonators.

Take that Italy!

In Florence check out "Tuscany Bike Tours". It's an awesome wine tasting bike tour! I stayed at Hotel David (in Florence) and it was also fantastic! Those are my two suggestions. Have a blast!

Outstanding! B and I honeymooned in Italy but we only stayed in Rome for a week. We still did not have enough time. We did venture to Pompeii which was amazing.

Sounds like a great itinerary! I managed to sneak in a side trip to Cinque Terra for a night, and it was quite possible one of the loveliest places I have been! It's made up of five tiny towns (they're all adorabIe -I stayed in Vernazza) and one can hike from one to the other. I guess what I'm saying is that I very highly recommend staying in Cinque Terra!
