A Shoe Mission.

Houston, we have a problem.

My wedding dress is supposed to come in sometime this month and I still don't have shoes. This is a problem. Especially since you're supposed to have your shoes when you try your dress on so they can alter accordingly. Ensue minor minor panic.

I actually bought a pair of shoes that Jess recommended and were super cute and they arrived and I still liked them, but I didn't love them. And they had no support on the bottom and I was slipping and sliding around the apartment, not how I want to spend my wedding, slipping and sliding.

I also realized that I don't want flats, I want sandals. Preferably I want sandals that look something like two pairs I already own:

or

See? Cute, simple, strappy and so me.

Now the problem is that I'm a size 10 and I want sandals in navy blue. Ummm why does no one make cute navy blue sandals that aren't $300??? I may also sway and wear ivory colored sandals instead but that have to be super cute. Sort of like these.

So I'm stuck. And I need your shoevice. So please help.

Thankyouheartyoubigtimewoo!

happy thursday!

Love Steve Madden....but will u make use of them afterwards? (as my mom would ask)....the light blue ones are cute too. and if the navy ones u like are THE one your heart desires, then get them... don't just settle as I've been told.

So i did a search on piperline and you're right, nobody has navy sandals... but this is what my search came up with. Idk if bronze is a choice of yours, but the seychelles "long lost twin" looks pretty cute... here is the search i did. check it out :) http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/categorySearch.do?cid=35978&pageID=0&searchFilter=0&searchFilterName=10&searchFilterValue=All+Products////Women%27s%20shoes%20%26%20accessories////Sandals////Flat////AttribSelect%3DBy%20Size%201%3D%2710%27&searchContextPath=All+Products////Women%27s%20shoes%20%26%20accessories////Sandals////Flat////AttribSelect%3DBy%20Size%201%3D%2710%27&searchMode=1&sortBy=

Just my two cents . . . the reason they ask you to have your shoes is because they want to make sure they get the length right. If you're wearing flats, you should be able to wear any pair of flats and be ok. That way you don't have to stress and settle for something you don't LOVE, you know?

Now I'm off to search for you! Whee!

I agree with Kateastrophe. If you are wearing not only flats, but sandal flats...as in, a tiny bit of material between your feet and the ground....you'll be fine. Just wear one of those pairs to the dress fitting hemming appointment and you'll be totally set!

And those light blue ones are awesome, btw....

I would check DSW... They have awesome prices and lots of sandals right now...

Here are some cute navy flats, although they aren't very strappy:

I think these are cute in a very spangly way (more royal than navy):

Seriously, I created a bracket for my wedding shoes. If you encourage me in the slightest, I'm more than happy to help with the search. :)

Oooh... and don't forget Zappos... They are awesome... These might be a little bit much with all the metal accents, but they are navy and cute :-)

Question? Would a shoe in one of your accent colors work?

Not sure if you'll like these, but I think they're cute and fun:

http://www.zappos.com/indigo-by-clarks-bordeaux-cobalt-leather

These are probably not the right blue:

http://www.amazon.com/Madden-Girl-Womens-Motif-Strappy/dp/B001P06P26/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_1

These are supposedly navy:

You may hate these and they have a heel that I'm not sure you'd want, but I think they're super cute:

Good luck! I know what you're going through, I was still checking stores at 10pm the night before the dress fitting where they had to know how to hem it. I found the perfect shoes and I'm sure you will too! I'm at work and totally search for you, but maybe something here?

http://www.shopstyle.com/browse?fts=navy+sandal

any boutique-y type stores near you that might have what you're looking for? you know, a company that doesn't have a website and is kind of low profile?

(I wear size 10s also and it's SO hard to find cute shoes in our size sometimes!)

oooh or these might be nice http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=753300062&tid=onsz1r&kwid=1&ap=7

Wedding shoes are my absolute favorite things because when else can you go all out and be fancy! Endless.com has great filters to narrow down your search. I'm not sure which color of Navy you're looking for but here are a few shoes I saw in a blue:

http://tinyurl.com/y4x2mvj

and since blue was impossible in sandals.. white or offwhite:
http://tinyurl.com/y47qddf

http://tinyurl.com/y79htgw

http://tinyurl.com/y5ob9p4

(and I know these are flats, but they're a bit fancier than the other pair.. maybe you'll like them better?)

Have fun with them though! your shoes can be whatever statement you want them to make.. :)

What about the ones you saw at Steve Madden? .. coupon codes remember??

these are a bit fancier than the strappy sandals you posted but they're super cute: http://www.zappos.com/madden-girl-kizzler-blue-paris

or these: http://www.zappos.com/calvin-klein-pallas-midnight-honeycomb

okay these aren't a strappy sandal AT ALL but they're beautiful wedding shoes (in my opinion) http://www.zappos.com/charles-david-cherise-blue-leather

Yes, navy blue sandals are so hard to find, especially if you want them to be remotely dressy or bridey. That being said, I do absolutely love those Steve Madden sandals that you linked and I think you'd probably get a lot of use out of them (at other weddings and nights out to dress up jeans). I'd love to see you wear strappy sandals at your wedding because I think that's so "Katelin!" Good luck! You're going to be beautiful, no matter what.

I wish I could be more help, but I am so not a sandals girl :( I do think that the Steve Madden ones you posted are totally you though!

JCrew has some nice ones, but the fancier ones are way too expensive. I think Birkenstock had some, but...kind of plain for a wedding.

I love the Steve Madden ones though!

Aww I'm so bummed you didn't like those shoes! I think the steve madden ones are great and I'm sure aldo or steve madden would have some other options to consider that would be perfect for your big day. I do really like the steve madden ones you linked to. Delicate and appropriate

You know? I never even thought about wearing sandals with my dress. I had a super hard time finding flats. I bought a cute pair at Urban Outfitters (they were so cheap -- like 15 bucks) but I don't LOVE them. They're fine and I'm not gonna worry too much but I kinda wish I thought of sandals! Anyway, sorry this comment has no helpful suggestions ... I do love the Steve Madden ones. Very pretty!

Can you get white sandals and dye them? It was obv very common in the '80s bridesmaid era to have matching dresses and shoes. There must still be some dyeable options around.

Cute sandals. The white one is cute too!:)
