Work it.

So I've recently (well over the past couple months) become a regular gym goer (woo! applause! cheers!). And in that past couple of months I can't even count how many 'work out mixes' I have gone through. I seriously have music ADD. Any of my friends can attest to this fact: I rarely play songs the whole way through (which made it kind of difficult when I was a DJ), I play some songs on repeat forever and ever (to the dismay of anyone who lived with me) and I have an overall random ass taste in music. With that all said, my current work out mix is a random jumble of songs I love and make me want to move, but I am in need of adding to the mix and am very open to adding some new tracks. So here's what I currently have:

So see what I mean? I listen to random stuff (and lots of Britney, please don't judge, haha). So please send you favorite work out songs or just songs in general so I can check them out and add them to my gym repertoire (woot!). Thank you, thank you.

Happy Thursday!

This is kind of what my mixes would sound like! Lots of Britney.

Usually I work out at my boyfriend's since his mom has an elliptical, plus, he's a dj. He djs for me when I workout so I have a custom mix everytime. It's awesome! Lots of Britney and Justin.

Yay for Chris Brown and Justice too!

Download:

Shake and Pop - Green Velvet
Hustler - Simian Mobile Disco

They will surely get you going! I will think of more too :)

I do my best work outs to trance & techno music. Usually things that can slow down or speed up in intermittent spots so I can keep up.

I .. really friggin' miss the gym.

Anything from Gwen Stefani's first album (Rich Girl, What You Waiting For?, Hollaback Girl) is GREAT on a workout playlist, as well as anything by Rihanna.

Oh man, I am the same way. I need music at the gym that is new and fresh and holds my attention, so I don't concentrate so much on how I'd rather be at home eating peanut butter. I need to look in my iTunes, I'll get back to you with some good stuff.

Just stopping by to say hi and reading as many blog posts as I have time for before my $%#&@ phone rings again at work!

Good mix...I heart working out to Britney. The only one I can think off the top of my head to add would be "Tell Me" by P. Diddy and Christina Aguilera. I have my workout mix at home or I'd know more!

I've been doing the "gah I'm so sick of all my music" thing lately too, especially in light of just joining a new gym. My workout music totally depends on the type of exercise. If it's running I need upbeat stuff (exactly like what's on your mix), but if it's weights I like slower stuff like Grey Street by DMB and, strangely, I like to do the stairmaster with my eyes closed listening to Con Te Partiro by Andrea Bocelli. Yes, I hold the hand rails. Yes, I'm a freak.
I know this.

I can't say this enough. Miley Cyrus "See You Again" will become your favorite song in the whole world. NOTE: You totally have to listen to it 5 times before coming addicted. b/c i thought it was goofy at first ;)

i've got a bunch of those songs on my ipod! but i looove the real 90s throwbacks - ie, saturday night, by whigfield.

good freakin times on the elliptical when that song is on haha.

yes, very fine selection there indeed. I find fast paced stuff the best at the gym. When ordinarily I'm into more slower stuff.

And you can't go past J-Lo for gym music. the image of her fab body also works as a good motivator too!

My workout mixes are almost exclusively 80s and 90s pop music. Usually with a little bit of rap. Lots of Britney and Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Ace of Base. Just ridiculous stuff. Nothing gets me moving like a kick ass New Kids on the Block jam.

I think I've heard of four of these. lol :)

My gym routine is to watch E!News and crap like that on the elliptical machine - it makes the time fly!

By the way, this frigid LA weather is causing me to skip the gym in favor of lounging around the house with the heater on. Are you having this problem too?

In the gym, I don't know why but I find Prodigy to be extremely motivating :)

Like you mix too, I'll skip the Britney and test try the rest.

Have a great weekend!

Great mix!!! One of my favs is Canned Heat by Jamiroquai. It reminds me of Napoleon and Center Stage. Two reasons to shake your booty.

Britney is the best workout music! My workout playlist includes most of her new album, plus a few old tunes (Slave & Toxic specifically).

So, I definitely do NOT judge you! :)

I think a lot of Pussycat Dolls tunes are tailor made for working-out soundtracks (Doncha, Wait a Minute, Beep, to name but a few), Let's Get It Started by Black Eyed Peas, Pop Ya Collar by Usher, Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado, Sexyback, Dance Dance by Fallout Boy, Please Don't Stop The Music by Rihanna, Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani, About you Now and Freak Like Me by The Sugababes - think I've ran out of suggestions now!

Some songs in my iPod workout playlist that really get me moving:

Rihanna - Can't Stop the Music
Madonna - Get Together
Outkast - Hey Ya!
Groove Armada - Superstylin'
Linkin Park - What I've Done
Somebody Told Me - The Killers
Lupe Fiasco - Superstar
Give It to Me - Timbaland

So Rich, So Pretty - Mickey Avalon
^catchy like no other

Believe Me - Fort Minor

Hahaha, I won't judge. There's these 2 Ashlee Simpson songs that has the catchiest beats ever that I listen to (La La & Boyfriend), LOLs.

Oh, and try Caesars - Jerk It Out
^old school, but fun

Awesome mix!! I also LOVE Young Love's "New Love" for working out. Metro Stations "Shake It" and Mute Math's "Plan B" are on my list as well!
