Weird Katelin food facts.

So yesterday's tweet inspired me to share some fun/random/weird food facts about myself. Some of which I may have shared before, some maybe not, but I'm too lazy to look at past posts and find out, so here we go.

One. I've never had a pear.

Two. I don't like fruit clumps in my yogurt.

Three. I also don't like clumpy jelly/jam and pretty much spread it out so that there are no fruit clumps.

Four. I ask my smoothies to be super blended for the same reasons. Basically I hate fruit clumps.

Five. I don't like strawberries, oranges, mushrooms and especially not zucchini/squash.

Six. I can only eat an apple if it's crispy, if it's soft yeah there's no way.

Seven. As we all know, I can pretty much eat cheese with every meal. All cheese included. I have yet to meet a cheese I don't like.

Eight. Frozen fruits (especially grapes and bananas) gross me out even if chocolate is involved.

Nine. One of my favorite food combos is tuna, green apple, cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.

Ten. I used to hate onions and tomatoes but now I love them and add them to everything. Especially burgers. Yummm.

nom nom nom.

So am I the only weird eater out there or do you have weird food quirks too?

happy weekend all!

My weirdest trait is that I eat baby carrots by the half pound or pound.

I also love peas and applesauce.

And I mush up my berries into a sauce. Except blueberries and blackberries.

That's just the beginning of the weirdness for me.

I cannot eat tomatoes... they make me gag. And I used to HATE mushrooms, but I love them now!

I don't like water chesnuts. And as hard as I've tried, I don't like cottage cheese.

I love fruit, but only if it's cold.
The only fruit that can be room temperature is bananas.

I am so right there with you when it comes to clumps. I just can't do clumps in yogurt, jello, ice cream, jelly.. anything. I used to hate hate hate onion but now I kinda like it. It's weird how your preferences change.

The only fruit chunks I like are cherries. I could eat millions of those.

I cannot STAND tomatoes at all. Ew ew ew.

Other than that, I don't know how we weren't separated at birth or something. #2, 3, 4 & 6 might as well have been written by me.

I'm the exact same way about apples. Crisp & cold, or nothin', The slightest bit of soft makes me sick.

Also, I'm hella craving cheese now, haha.

mushrooms are my nemesis

I'm the same way about apples. My hangups are texture...cottage cheese (well, and also the taste), tappioca pudding (and taste), squishy tomatoes (need to be freshy cut and not green in the middle), mussels and I will NEVER try Rocky Mountain "oysters" aka cow nuts.

Oysters and liver are a 'no-go'.

I LOVE tomatoes, could eat tomatoes every day for every meal! I also love cheese - any kind!

I still don't understand how somebody can NOT like zucchini (but hey, that's ok!)

I am in complete agreement with Doni. I can't stomach water chestnuts nor cottage cheese. Also, when I was like 10, I used to always ask my mom for chocolate chip cookies WITHOUT the chocolate chips.

uh, yeah, I was a very weird child.

Frozen foods freak me out too! My random weird food fact is that I cannot eat peaches.. at all. Oh and I have only tasted gravy once.

Fact #1 reminds me of a recent episode of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

I refused to eat vegetables (except lettuce and the occasional carrot or tomato) up until I was 25. Now I'll try almost anything

you must eat a pear, seriously. I forgot how AMAZING they are until I bought a couple for my kids at Trader Joes the other day and took a bite when I was peeling it for them and thot, holy cow! This is GOOD!

I had to laugh and laugh at "fruit clumps" b/c I am RIGHT there with you, as I read I actually said "ew" out loud b/c they seriously give me the heebie jeebies...especially in yogurt *shudder*

I believe I already shared my thoughts re: you and the pears.

I have weird issues with textures. Gah.

Especially fruit in my yogurt. I hate it!

I love pears! You really are missing out. I really love your blog. You make me laugh on the daily. Thanks!

I think my only weird thing is i HATE mustard. And I'm not a huge fan of balsamic. I can't believe you don't like strawberries and mushrooms! they're sooooo good.

it's funny how people have such different palettes.

you sound like my boyfriend. He has texture issues with different food.

Bayjb said...

Yikes, some of these could be a dealbreaker if we were dating, but fortunately you're a good friend and we'll just always look for buffets :)

How have you never had a pear?!?! And how do you not like oranges?? Do you like orange juice??

Hmmm my only weird food quirk is that I cannot stand whipped cream!! Ughh, even the sound of a whipped cream can makes me gag. Homemade whipped cream is slightly more acceptable.

Sues

My only really weird food thing is I HATE celery. I know if its in things - despite my boyfriend telling me it has no taste!
