Friday: Right after work Matt and I headed down to San Diego! It was just the weekend we needed to visit friends and have a good time all around. We made it down around 10 and just hung out the rest of the night, twas loverly.
Saturday: Woke up and headed to breakfast, but not just any breakfast the best breakfasts of breakfasts, at the Original Pancake House aka the House of deliciousness! Seriously I love this place. The omlettes are divine and it was just all around fun:
After breakfast we basically spent the day hanging out at the girls' place. It was a nice afternoon of catching up, being lazy, relaxing and just not doing a whole lot, haha. And I loved it.
Eventually we headed to a sports bar to watch some of the game. And AJ met up with us and drinks were had and my team won (GO TROJANS!!!) after nearly giving me a heart attack, and more drinks were had and lots of fun.
my attempt at being artistic, haha.
Matt and AJ watching the game.

Amanda and Marisa,
our fabulous hosts of the weekend
me and AJ enjoying some bar time.
Basically it was a great time hanging out with everyone (even though Matt unfortunately had a stomach ache most of the night) catching up and getting a wee bit drunk. The funniest was when AJ and I left the bar to walk back to the girls' apartment and we had no idea if we were going the right way or not, haha (thank you iphone for your map app!). Eventually after lots of laughing we made it back alright and alas the night of funness was over.
Sunday: Slept in a bit, woke up to the girls making breakfast burritos (umm yummm!) which was fabulous. Matt and I hung out a couple hours before heading out and stopping at my friend Lucie's place on our way back home. It was fun to see her and catch up and have a lovely afternoon. After we left Lucie's place we headed up to Long Beach to celebrate Matt's Aunt Toni's birthday with his family. It was quite the fun get together, lots of wine and good food and birthday cheers and laughing and yeah, a great way to end the weekend.
Matt and I with the birthday girl! :)
love this pic or Ryan and Michaela, so darn cute.
the whole birthday party crew.
After dinner I came home to watch the VMAs (oh yes plenty more on that tomorrow) and relax a bit. Twas fantastic.
It was a great weekend and I'm sad to see it go. Luckily I've got another great one to look forward to this coming weekend, so all is good in the neighborhood.
And how was your weekend?
happy monday!
