My latest obsessions.

As we all know, I have sort of an obsessive/addictive behavior. I mean as soon as I find something I really like I get hooked on it (seriously it's a good thing I've never smoked or done drugs because I don't even want to think about my behavior then).

So lately I've developed some fun obsessions/addictions lately that I feel like you should know about on this fine Friday, so here we go.
  • Sporcle.com. This site has definitely fueled my need to know country names and US presidents and professional sports teams and all sorts of other random facts and I lurve it.

  • "Airplanes" by B.o.B (still the lamest name ever) featuring Hayley Williams from Paramore. Seriously I cannot get enough of this song! I freaking love it. And you probably should too.

  • Brown rice. I've had it every day for lunch this week and it is deeeelicious.

  • Wedding planning. I mean the fact that it's four months away was a pretty big wake up call that some big things still need to get done. I'm not freaking out about it or anything, just having way too much fun making google docs and bookmarking cute blogs and writing down emails for DJs and videographers (any recs are welcome). Basically it's loverly.

  • All things Italian. As much as I am excited for our wedding I am just as excited to trek around Italy for a two week honeymoon. It also helps that we have lots of fun books to read about to get us ready and excited and I heart them all, woo!

So anything you're addicted to/obsessing over lately?

The best things come in big packages.

A couple weeks ago I was surprised when there a big box with my name on it waiting for me at home.

When I opened it I was surprised to find the new DSi XL from my friends at Nintendo and Brand About Town! Basically it was awesome. And I am in love.

Basically the new DS is a lot bigger than the original and just as cool except it has a dual camera (which I have yet to use but will eventually) and the internet connection seems to work better than my DSi does and it's just pretty and fun and I love it.

I haven't even played the games that were preloaded to the DSi yet because I'm still stuck on Style Savvy, yes, still. So stuck on it that I even played it on my birthday and I was all excited because I got a special outfit from Dominic and I told Julie about it on twitter and ummm I might have issues.

So basically the DSi XL is perfect for the blind person like me and I love it's awesome color and the huge screen and the whole thing overall is just superb and you should probably get one for yourself (and then get Style Savvy and we can have contests against each other and it will be awesome....er forget I said it, just get a DS, haha).

I was given this DS free-of-charge. The opinions are mine and were not influenced by any source. I was not compensated monetarily to advertise at all, I just love it so much!

Hollywood heartface.

Another Tuesday, another day in Hollywood so heeeeere weeeeee goooooo.
  • Starting off this week we have some serious cuteness coming from mom-to-be Isla Fisher and her oh so adorable and smiley daughter Olive. Seriously she's precious, she should be friends with Violet and Harlow and ah the cuteness would be amazing.

    preciousness!

  • Also bringing in some major cuteness we have little Zuma Rossdale with mama Gwen looking as precious as ever.

    aw little pouty face.

  • Moving on from the bebe cuteness and on to some Hollywood updates...Elijah Wood is in Chile helping out with abandoned pets and seriously, how cute is that...also cute? Dave Annable (from Brothers and Sisters) is currently in the middle of wedding planning, well sort of....in other awesome adorableness, Taylor Swift showed up and surprised two Auburn guys who run the site, A Hug From Taylor Swift and seriously I just heart her even more...in other girly news, Hayden Panitierre chopped all her hair off and I sort of agree with Dlisted, I thought Peter Pan too, haha....in some fairy tale-like news, Johnny Depp has bought his own pirate yacht, I think he might be a little too into Jack Sparrow but it is pretty bad ass....and Betty White is hosting SNL in two weeks and a promo was just released and seriously she is awesome.

  • In some favorites news...
Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell are filming a new movie together (odd pairing but it works) and ummm how suave is Ryan!?!

    oh hello senor suave.

Also in favorites news, Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger have emerged and are just as cute as ever! Seriously they are so lovely and I really hope they get married and just stay cute!

    heart.heart.heart.

  • In Twilight news...
The newest (and I believe last) trailer for Eclipse has been released and ohmygoodness is about all I can say.

  • In music news...
Jamie tweeted this gem yesterday and I just have to share because oh did I have it on repeat yesterday. Katy Perry singing MGMT's "Electric Feel" aka awesomeness.

  • In TV news...
GLEE. I don't even know where to begin. I can't even do the episode justice so I'll just share some thoughts. One. Where do they get the money for all of the costumes?? I'm not complaining, just curious. Two. I think Puck needs to always go by puckzilla from now on because what? It's ridiculous. Three. Mercedes and Kurt singing "4 Minutes" was all sorts of kick ass. Four. I just discovered this site and it's so damn cute. Five. I'd say Sue's "Vogue" did the original justice. and Six. "Come out and we can talk...or sing about it."

Project Runway. Yay Seth Aaron! I don't necessarily love his stuff but he was the nicest person in the top three. However, what the eff was up with those sideburns, please lose them buddy. Also, did anyone watch the after show? Why was everyone crying and whining??? It was so annoying.

Top Model. Any day now Angelea and Alasia can go, any day now Tyra. In the meantime Anslee got the boot and Four Four covers it best.

Tori and Dean. I've started watching this show lately and ohmygod I might have new favorite celeb babies, Stella and Liam are all sorts of precious. And even though Tori needs to eat a burger or twenty, her and Dean are pretty dang cute together.

Desperate Housewives. Yep, still watching, still reviewing.

  • Lastly in today's WTF news, a man missing two front teeth from Missouri won the powerball lottery of $258 million. Um. What. Why can't I win the lotto? (then again I guess I have to play it to win it, haha).

And that's all we have today. Anything I missed let me know?

Birthday full of sangria, flamenco and friends!

First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for all of the lovely birthday wishes/comments/texts/tweets and phone calls! Every single of one of them made me smile and feel oh so very loved so thank you!

Friday: Had a lovely day at work with quite a fun long birthday lunch which was awesome. There was also birthday cake which was fun because really who doesn't love birthday cake? After work I came home and then Matt and I were on our way to dinner. We went to this posh little wine bar in Pasadena, Vertical, and my aunt Natalie even met us there as a surprise to me. It was a fun dinner with some delicious risotto and mac and cheese and salad and wine and just good times all around. After dinner Matt surprised me with my birthday present....the Elsa Peretti necklace from my wishlist! Seriously that boy is a keeper!! It was also a gift from his parents to me as well but ah I love it, it's gorgeous. After dinner Matt and I came home, had some wine and relaxed for the rest of the night, quite loverly all around.

Saturday: Slept in a bit before heading off to get my hair cut (wee!) and then went over to my new "neighbors", Bri and Devin's housewarming party! It was so fun to just hang out, meet some new people and have lots of delicious food. And before I knew it, it was time to get ready for dinner with my friends! I invited a small group of friends to a tapas place in Pasadena that I'd never been to before, La Luna Negra, and man was it a good time. There was lots of sangria drinking, laughing, all sorts of good food and even some flamenco dancing. Yes flamenco dancing. Because it was my birthday I was called on stage to dance and I downed a glass of sangria and said okay! Basically it was a fabulous night all around and there's pictures to prove it!

cheers to my birthday! (and my super cute
new necklace, haha)

a table shot, haha.

Megan and JR having a good time.

I was totally on stage, I blame the sangria.
and my friends.

happy birthday to me!

After singing and dancing along to music and drinking tons of sangria we made our way back to our place and walked to our local dive bar for some more drinks and good times.

a birthday glass of wine, woo.

and a birthday shot as well.

and one for Matt as well.

Pretty much it was an awesome night with friends and the guy I love and I couldn't have asked for more.

Sunday: Happy Birthday to me!! I woke up to plenty of fun texts and emails and it was lovely. After hanging out for a bit Matt and I were on our way to meet my family and his mom for brunch at Green Street (aka the home of the most amazing mimosas ever). Basically it was a delicious brunch with mimosas and eggs and just yum all around! I also got to open some presents from Matt's mom (a super cute flip flop cup) and a fabulous candy bowl from my sister. After brunch we went to my parents house to open my brothers' gift to me, another one off of my wishlist, Scrabble! Basically now someone needs to come over and play with us, woo.

After a while Matt and I came home and there were some lovely flowers to greet me which was wonderful. I even fit in a skype date with my BFF Jen which was just superb. Afterwards we just relaxed/napped and watch Avatar (yes, yes we own it I am a fan but it's not the best movie ever). Once the movie was over we were on our way to my sister's boyfriend's house for a BBQ. It was quite the relaxing way to spend my birthday with macaroni and cheese and ribs and just goodness all around. After dinner we spent the rest of the night at home hanging out and watching TV and just having fun, I love birthdays.

So that was my birthday weekend and I wish I could do again today, but alas I have another year to wait for it, haha. And thank you again for all of the birthday love!

happy monday!

The 5th anniversary of my 21st birthday!

That's right kids, it's my birthday*! Woo!

I figured that 26 on the 25th doesn't sound nearly as cool as 25 on the 25th sounded last year so the 5th anniversary of my 21st on the 25th works just as well right? Haha, yes I know I am ridiculous.

Anyways it's sort of crazy to say goodbye to 25. I mean I did so many awesome things at 25...

So pretty much 25 was a rock star and 26 has some big shoes to fill. So 26 how about the most amazing wedding ever? Or a lunch/dinner/ice cream/pub hang out with Keanu or Sam or Simon okay? Or winning the lotto? Or a super fantastic house at a super fantastic price? Or how about my allergies disappear forever? Or EW/People/PopSugar asks me to work red carpets and write movie reviews? Okay? Sound good? Sound like a plan? Awesome.

Well then welcome 26, good to see you, make yourself comfortable, stay a while.

happy birthday to me!

*updated to add my birthday is actually Sunday but posting today was just more fun since I don't post on weekends.

Some things...*

  • It really doesn't feel like my birthday is in four days. Usually it's all I can talk about, now I feel like it's slowly sneaking up on me and I'm not nearly as excited as I usually am. Someone change this for me please....please?

  • I officially don't like Idol even more since it cause Glee to cut off on my DVR! We watched the Laker game so I didn't see that Glee was going long and I didn't get to see/hear "Like a Prayer"! For Shame! Time to Hulu it I suppose, but still, blergh.

  • I'm currently reading Up in the Air and I've decided the movie is much more entertaining. Also, if George Clooney pictures were in it maybe I'd be more interested.

  • Also, if you google George, this picture shows up, haha:

  • And was that too many commas? It looks like it? The English minor in me should know. Sadly, I do not.

  • I've been really bad at Project: Loser lately. I have to keep trying to motivate myself but man do I love sleeping and eating unhealthy things, haha. But I promise, I'll find my motivation again soon. I mean I do have to a wear a pretty white dress in four months, woo.

  • Nonetheless, I could really go for some mac and cheese and a red velvet cupcake right about now.

*I'm pretty sure I've used this title more than once but it was fitting for today.

happy wednesday!

Fa la la la Hollywood.

Another Tuesday, another Hollywood post so here we go.
  • Starting off this week's cuteness we have Twilight alum, Cam Cigandet, with baby Everleigh. Seriously she is so adorable and I love her little scrunched up face.

    presh!

  • Next up in bebe cuteness we have little Vivienne Jolie-Pitt. I almost wasn't going to post this picture but ohmygoodnesstheleatherjacket. And seriously she is a little Shiloh, it's just precious.

    pouty face? check!

  • And because there is just too much cuteness today I had to share one of my favorite SVU detectives having some mommy and me time on set with her oh so adorable look alike son, August.

    so cute!

  • Also in bebe news, looks like Isla Fisher and Sasha Baron Cohen are going to be parents again, congrats to the super cute family!...Also expecting? Jessica Capshaw aka Dr. Robbins on Grey's, congrats!...in other happy news, Christina Applegate is engaged!...in not so happy, rather splitsville news, Mel Gibson and baby mama Oxana are dunzo and so is Larry King and his 8th wife (8th!!)...Charlie Sheen shaved his head, is he having a Britney breakdown? Oh goodness...maybe Vivica Fox can help him out with a wig...and Rihanna is supporting my LA Dodgers which is awesome since her boyfriend is one our best players, woo Go Blue!

  • In Twilight news...
Fact. Kellan Lutz looks good without a shirt on. Example:

    hawtness.

  • In TV news...
GLEE. I know some people don't get the hype while others are just as into this show as I am. But umm I LOVE musicals, so naturally I am a fan of this show. Anyhoozits, it's finally back and I loved last week's Spring premiere. I think I screamed when Idina came on screen because I have a huge girl crush on her (primarily because she's Elphaba and I LOVE Wicked). And my goodness there was so much drama in the premiere it was nuts! Also, tonight. Madonna episode. Um say what? According to Trent it's phenomenal and I cannot wait.

    HEART THEM.
also, Taye, you're more than welcome to guest star
on the show as well okay? Thanks.

Project Runway. I haven't really loved any designers this season except Anthony and even he didn't have the best clothes, just the best personality. I have a feeling Emilio is going to take it in Bryant Park but I wouldn't mind if Seth Aaron won instead, he's nicer, haha. Also in PR news, one of my faves Carol Hannah revealed her new bridal collection and I'm sort of a fan. If anything just happy for her, woo!

Top Model. I would be quite alright if Alasia and Angelea went home. They have such ugly personalities it seriously annoys me. Also, Jessica, still a fave. And um Tyra, stop trying to make the jump suit work, stop it! For the full gif-filled recap, check out Four Four as always.

Desperate Housewives. Check out my review on Sunday's dramaful episode.

  • In music news...
Hanson has a new song/video out and it's so catchy and cute and I sort of like it. Check out "Thinkin 'Bout Something." (also, I had no idea they've released so many CDs, wow).

  • Lastly in today's WTF news we have a woman who claims that a Wii accident made her a nympho. Um. What? Apparently any vibration gets her going now because of the Wii, haha, ridiculous.

Anything I missed? Let me know!

happy tuesday!

Fun times weekend.

Oh what a weekend indeed. I'm trying not to fall asleep as I type this because I'm so exhausted but man was it worth it in every way.

Friday: After I got home from work me, Matt and our neighbor Erica trekked on over to Duarte to have dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory because I had never been! The idea to go came after talking about the night before we went to the Grilled Cheese Truck, so pretty much we love food, haha. Basically we had no wait and got to sit in a cool little area and were served super fast and man was it delicious. I had this crab ravioli and yum just yum. All in all it was a loverly little dinner party and I'll definitely head back to OSF again one day. After dinner we all came home and Matt and I caught up on the DVR and just had a nice night to ourselves and it was loverly.

Saturday: Matt headed out early to the Long Beach Grand Prix and I had the day to myself to be productive and productive I was! I renewed my passport, did some grocery shopping, went to the bank, the library, and even fit in some shopping. A while back someone from TJ Maxx/Marshall's contacted me asking if I'd be interested in doing some shopping there to experience their off-price items and how could I say no? So on Saturday I went to both a Marshall's and a TJ Maxx to spend $50 total and see what sort of damage I could do and I must say I am in looove with my purchases.

I got these two super cute flowering pots (apparently I have to plant
something now, haha), a lovely frame, some artichoke spread and a dress I looove.

okay so not part of the $50 I splurged and got
this second dress because I just loved it's dress up office appeal, haha.

Basically a very successful shopping trip. After TJ Maxx and Marshall's I even made my way to Macy's to finally get myself a bathing suit and a super cute new purse that when I have a bathing suit body again I'll have to show it off, haha.

Anyhoozits, after my day o Katelin it was finally time for some fabulous ladies to come over. I had planned a girl's night just to have it and I am so glad I did. To steal from Ali's recap setup let's just break it down like this:

Who: Tara, Kerri, Ali, Michelle, Andrea, Allison, me and Matt (yes I know it was girl's night but Matt's plans ended way earlier and we didn't want to send him away especially since he made an even number for game playing).

Where: Our apartment.

Why: Because girl's night are totally necessary.

Pretty much the night was full of lots of laughing, brownie and cookie eating, wine drinking, Sniglets playing and jokes about the Backstreet boys, robot walking and Israel. Needless to say it was all sorts of awesome and I cannot wait to do it again.

most of the ladies, cheers!

Ali laughed so hard so fell over, lav it.

Sniglets. You need to play it.

the Sniglet winners.

look at what you started Kerri!robot walk everyone!
robot walk!

Sunday: After some breakfast Matt and I decided to head to Universal Studios to start putting our annual passes to use. I pretty much love that place. I mean it's all about movies and Hollywood so how could I not love it? Sure it doesn't have as many rides as other theme parks but I still enjoy it. I also really loved that while on the Tram tour we got to visit Wisteria Lane (from Desperate Housewives). Seriously the houses are so pretty and it all looks so real and fun I love it.

the Solis house, lurve it.

Basically it was a perfect day for some rides and walking around. We ended the day in City Walk at had a delicious lunch/dinner and also got some doughnuts for the right home which I sort of really loooooved.

mmmmmm.

Afterwards we came home, relaxed and watched some TV, I napped a bit and just had a loverly Sunday night together.

Whew, so that was my busy yet oh so fun weekend. And how was yours?

happy monday!

Birthday "wishlist" it to me.

My birthday is nine days away. Nine! And I swear you wouldn't even know it because I've barely talked about my birthday this year. I mean it doesn't even really seem like it's happening. I mean last years' birthday was just so epic (read awesome) and so planned out I don't know that I'll ever get near that awesomeness again. Nonetheless my birthday is coming up and plans are sort of being made and so of course I have a wishlist. So here we go:

These shoes I mentioned in yesterday's post.

seriously they're adorable (and I'm a size 10).
I just can't spend $100 on shoes for myself, I just can't.
Well not yet at least.

Euros, I mean we're headed to Italy
in a couple months and we have to pay somehow.

Water for Elephants.

I really liked this book and I wouldn't
mind owning it and reading it again.

The Elsa Peretti Letter "K" pendant from Tiffany's

yes this is the 3rd year I've asked for it
but I'm bound to get it eventually...
right?

Scrabble.

I love this game, and don't own
it. Something is wrong here.

A wine-of-the-month club membership.

Seriously how cool would that be?

And that is this year's birthday list. Can't really think of anything else to add besides having someone pay for our hotels in Italy or find us a DJ or you know, pay for the whole wedding because that would be amazing? That or going to a pub with Rob Pattinson and Sam Worthington and Simon Baker because that would just be a plethora of accents and hawtness and awesomeness, haha.

Anyhoozits, YAY to my almost birthday!

happy friday!

A Shoe Mission.

Houston, we have a problem.

My wedding dress is supposed to come in sometime this month and I still don't have shoes. This is a problem. Especially since you're supposed to have your shoes when you try your dress on so they can alter accordingly. Ensue minor minor panic.

I actually bought a pair of shoes that Jess recommended and were super cute and they arrived and I still liked them, but I didn't love them. And they had no support on the bottom and I was slipping and sliding around the apartment, not how I want to spend my wedding, slipping and sliding.

I also realized that I don't want flats, I want sandals. Preferably I want sandals that look something like two pairs I already own:

or

See? Cute, simple, strappy and so me.

Now the problem is that I'm a size 10 and I want sandals in navy blue. Ummm why does no one make cute navy blue sandals that aren't $300??? I may also sway and wear ivory colored sandals instead but that have to be super cute. Sort of like these.

So I'm stuck. And I need your shoevice. So please help.

Thankyouheartyoubigtimewoo!

Blog Swap: Summer Drinks with Prost to the Host.

Hello! I am a fellow blogger and maintain Prost to the Host. It is blog focusing on the entertaining side of life (ie. weddings, birthdays, dinner parties etc). It is a fun side project as I get to delve into the lives of my clients, but also get to plan parties without spending a dime.

To keep things somewhat in the lines of entertaining, I thought I would share a few of my favorite drinks with you. Summer is just around the corner and I am feeling the grayness of Portland, Oregon. Thus, something fruity, chilled and bright is exactly what I need to help me get through the last of this rainy winter/spring.

Strawberry Daiquiri {a la Epiciurious.com}

{Photo by Tara Doone}
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice
  • 5 large strawberries
  • 2 ounces white rum, such as Bacardi Light
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed strained lime juice
Combine the ingredients in a blender and pulse. Pour into a large, chilled martini glass. Top with garnish (fruit skewer, orange curl etc). Enjoy asap.

Tip
Bottled lime juice can be used instead of the fresh, but make sure to strain it first to ensure that its clear.

Classic Margarita {a la Epiciurious.com}

{Photo by Elissa Wiehn}
  • 2 ounces tequila made from 100 percent agave (preferably reposado or blanco)
  • 1 ounce Cointreau
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Salt for garnish
Combine tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice in cocktail shaker filled with ice. Moisten rim of Margarita or other cocktail glass with lime juice or water. Holding glass upside down, dip rim into salt. Shake and strain drink into glass and enjoy.

Tip
Using a tequila that is 100% agave makes the drink smoother, easier to enjoy.

A prost to you, the host. Now sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Cheers!

Hollywoodle.

Hollywood Tuesday on a Tuesday? It really is true, here comes some Hollywood your way:
  • Starting off this week's Hollywood cuteness we have my oh so favorite fam. Seriously I don't think Jen and the girls can be any more adorable.

    preciousness for the win.

  • Some other adorable girls making their way on the blog again are little Dolly and Charlie O'Connell with Papa Jerry. Seriously they have gotten so cute lately, and love dad spending some time with them.

    so dang cute.

  • In other bebe news, Dawson is going to be a daddy! After recently divorcing his wife, James Van Der Beek announced that him and his new girlfriend are expecting a baby, I wonder if they'll name it Pacey, haha...speaking of some funny bebe names, Paula Patton and Robin Thicke welcomed a baby boy recently who they named Julian Fuego..um what?! That is awesome...in not so awesome news, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon (mom of two of the most adorable boys in Hollywood) discovered that her husband of nine years has been cheating on her, and she did not hold back, instead she emailed his friends calling him out, wowza...also heading for splitsville is Anna Torv and Mark Valley after a very short marriage...coming a couple years late is a new DS game for the movie Mean Girls and there's just a little something missing on the cover...Conan's got a new gig on TBS and I'm actually quite excited for him, I think it'll be a fun change up and him and George will be a good pair...and Ice T and Aimee Mann had quite the Twitter convo over the weekend, seriously people watch out, it's on the internet.

  • In some favoritesness, Keanu is clean! And shaven! And handsome! And seriously where is he right now so I can meet him and take a picture with him because this is the Keanu I like.

    swoonfest.

  • In Twilight news...Jackson Rathbone is looking mighty fine in this new pic and I didn't think I'd ever say that about him but something about this picture is just so sultry and mysterious and swoony.

    oh hellooo.

  • In movie news...
Unless you live in a hole you saw that a new trailer for Sex and the City 2 came out. I never really watched the show and have only seen episodes here and there but I did love the first movie and umm I love this new trailer for the second one, especially the fact that Aidan is in it!!! Even more awesome is that a bunch of my girl friends will be here the weekend the movie comes out so we're going to try and make a date of it and I cannot wait.

  • And in TV news...
Top Model. Another week where a girl I liked went home. Seriously Ty, seriously? Can we not keep any of the natural beauties on the show? Instead we keep the trannies and the obnoxious? Eck. Anyhoo, per usual check out Four Four for the gif-filled recap of awesome. Also, remember Analeigh? She has a job! An acting job! You go girl (yes I just said that).

Glee. IS BACK TONIGHT! TONIGHT PEOPLE, TONIGHT!! So exciting. And man there has been so much hype going on I can barely wait to watch it. On top of it, the Madonna episode is coming soon and the kids (and adults) of the show have been doing some fun photo shoots, one of the best being this one for TV Guide. Although I really wonder how they pick which kids get to be in shoots and what not.

How I Met Your Mother. Marshall got mugged by a monkey?!? Haha, love it.

Project Runway. Okay I would like Emilio if he wasn't so damn cocky and I haven't loved all of his designs but I have a feeling he's going to win it.

SVU. Well one. Because Dick Wolf doesn't have enough to do, he's created a new Law and Order: LA. Umm yeah don't know how I feel about that. Two. Chris Meloni isn't going anywhere! Wahoo! So glad he's staying because as long as there's still stories to share I'll still watch Eliot and Olivia. Three. Chris Meloni and his fam are so dang adorable, lurve it:

    cuteness.

  • Lastly in today's WTF news, we have a story of some serious drinkers. No really, workers went on strike at a brewery in Coppenhagen after they were told to limit the amount of beer they drank on their lunch breaks, haha. Seriously they are all about the drinking it's ridiculous and hilarious and I want to party with these guys, well maybe.

So that's it today, anything I missed?

happy tuesday!
