Our Honeymoon: Food Porn.

So yeah remember how I got married and then Matt and I went to Italy for two weeks on our honeymoon? Of course you do because I haven't really stopped talking about it, but I've yet to blog about it. So I figured since I finally covered the wedding recap (and holy crap today is our two monthoversary, where is the time going people?!) I'd do some sort of honeymoon recap as well, because HELLO it was freaking ITALY.

So I was going to break it down by cities but I figured that might get boring so I'm starting off with one of my favorite parts of our honeymoon, THE FOOD. I mean yes of course I loved the romance of the country and the wine and being with my husband and the history but holy crap people THE FOOD. It can't really be described so instead I figured I'd share some pictures of some of our favorite meals because HELLO THE FOOD (do you get my point?).

So have a napkin ready, you might drool a bit (I mean I know I will and I was the one who freaking ate this stuff!)

Matt's meal on the left:
pork escalope and spaghetti, interesting.

Mine on the right:
Hands down my fave meal of our honeymoon,
cheese pizza with white asparagus and a fried egg.
pure heaven.

bruschetta? yes please!

pasta carbonara,
I never knew such a delicious meal
could exist.

seafood pasta anyone?

Matt's meal up top:
pasta primavera

My meal on the bottom:
spinach risotto, holy crap was it delicious.

SIX cheese pizza? SIX different
kinds of cheese?? yes freaking please.
and Matt thoroughly enjoyed
his prosciutto and cheese pizza as well.

gelatto? yes please!
we had gelatto every single night. mmmmmm.

My meal on the left:
cauliflower penne pasta

Matt's meal on the right:
a ginormous calzone.

My meal up top:
LASAGNA, yummmm.

Matt's meal on bottom:
oh cheesy cheesy penne.

Hungry? Because I am.

Also, I really hope that I don't get a whole bunch of spammers and weird searches now because I said 'porn', haha. Then again that would be interesting and probably disappointing to them when it's just a bunch of yummy food.

But really, back to THE FOOD, it was magical, like an orgasm in my mouth (yep apparently I am asking for the spammers today, haha). I don't think I've ever enjoyed food as much as I did on our honeymoon and I cannot wait to go back one day.

What's the best food you've ever had?

happy thursday!

Googily Moogily Hollywood.

Apparently I'm a jinx to technology and a jinx to myself. Hence the delay in posting. Oy freaking vey people. Well here we go:
  • Starting off this week's Hollywood cuteness we have my fave new mama Sandra Bullock and the oh so adorable baby Louis. Seriously this kid is precious.

    check out those chubby cheeks!
    I wuv it, haha.

  • Also bringing some major cuteness surprisingly is Jennifer Lopez and her twins, I have to admit I didn't always think they were that cute but in this photo shoot with mom they are definitely catching my eye.

    divas in the making,
    but man are they cute.

  • In other adorable bebe news, Matt Damon and his wife welcomed another girl (that makes four!) to the family, little Stella Zavahala was born last Wednesday, congrats to the growing family! Also bringing some major cuteness, Halle Berry and little Nahla at the pumpkin patch and Daws....er James Van Der Beek and his wife with their little daughter at the airport, preciousness.

  • Moving on from the bebes and on to other Hollywood news...Johnny Depp is so swoony and awesome and I love this breakdown of some of his best movie roles because it is just so true (thanks Ev'Yan for the link)...Zach Galafinakis (I'm too lazy to look up how to spell his name) is usually the funny man in interviews (I mean have you watched Between Two Ferns??) but this time a columnist from Texas got the best of him and it makes for one hilarious interview...so Hilary Duff is a newlywed like me but thank god I did not have the wedding morning she did, SHE LOST A TOOTH, seriously I would have freaked out like no other, crazy pants...want to see Sean Penn in drag again? Well today's your lucky day to be officially freaked out, haha....apparently T Swizzle (that's Taylor Swift for all you common folk, haha) and Jake Gylenhaal are a thing? I mean what? No, I don't buy it. I won't believe it until they break up and she writes a song about him....Carey Mulligan just got a million awesome points in my book because ever since breaking up with Shia she's been slumming it in a Best Western, seriously, awesomenes...

  • In some favoriteness....
Diane Kruger had all sorts of cuteness to share about her boyfriend, my favorite Joshua Jackson and if they ever break up I'll be devastated.

And um here's Josh on the set of Fringe looking so Joshy and cute:

    why hello to you too!

Also looking handsome these days, Ryan Gosling on the set of his movie Drive, taking on the role of an officer and who doesn't love a man in uniform?

I could make a joke about
handcuffs but I think I'll refrain, haha.

And his interview in Interview (wow that seems repetitive) is quite charming, especially when he says that people confuse him with Ryan Reynolds (um what, how is that possible??).

  • In today's Twilightness...
Over the weekend in my lazy sickness coma I decided to watch Twilight and then said "what the hell" and watched New Moon too. I mean yeah it's ridiculous and corny and horribly acted but I found myself loving both movies even more, maybe it was the drugs. But really I just can't wait to own Eclipse on DVD (December 4th, wahoo and yes I am that big of a twinerd) and watch it whenever I want because just swooon.

  • In music news...
Ok Go has done it again. Another ridiculously awesome video and I don't know how I'm just now seeing it, but I love it and I mean the puppies!! enjoy.

Glee is coming out with a Christmas album! I can't decide how awesome this will be yet and I mean it will be competing with Mariah's new Christmas CD so umm, is it Christmastime yet?

  • In movie news...
Gnomeo and Juliet. Seriously, this movie looks all sorts of adorable and Elton John and Lady Gaga are pairing up for a song on the soundtrack and just yes, cuteness, check it out.

The Hangover 2. I still don't know how I feel about this movie being made but it is pretty awesome that instead of Mel Gibson (yeah that was short lived), Liam Neesen is now slated to have a cameo role. Liam is pretty bad ass and awesome so I can't wait to see him explore a comedic side a bit.

  • In TV news..
Criminal Minds. Are you watching this show yet? Because you should. I mean yeah it's disturbing most of the time but it's also funny and there's Spencer Reed!! I mean seriously how could you not watch this adorably geeky guy every week.

Top Model. Thank the high heavens of modeldom that Ann did not get best picture, FREAKING FINALLY. And that's really all that matters, the better recap is at Four Four.

Grey's Anatomy. About damn time we got some normal Cristina Yang back in action, I was starting to get really worried. And how sweet/touching/sad was Derek's worry about Meredith getting Alzheimer's?? Also, I heart Lexie and her ridiculous memory, she should probably date Spencer Reed, what a combo that would be, haha.

Project Runway. I'm sort of behind but basically: TEAM MONDO for the win. I mean he has to right? RIGHT?

How I Met Your Mother. Although I love the regular Barney I also like the Barney with feelings who made Robin feel better about herself and praise her for her independentness, doesn't every girl want to hear that? And Marshall and Lily's attempts at baby making were all sorts of hilarious, I sort of loved it and can't wait for them to finally get knocked up.

  • Lastly in today's WTF news, The Situation has a book. A FREAKING BOOK. I mean can he even read?!? Are they just giving book deals to anyone these days because if that is the case then HELLO out there, I WANT TO WRITE A BOOK! But seriously what the eff America? How does that douchewad land that? Oy.

So anything I missed? Let me know! Woo!

happy wednesday!

A snippet kind of weekend.

Here is what my oh so riveting and ridiculous (complete sarcasm) weekend looked like:

Dinner with my aunt and uncle, drink margaritas, sleep.

Eat, stomachache, shop - got this:

and this:

and I'm in luuuurve.

Bought some books, wedding reception, see old friends, sleep some more, dinner with family, stomachache, sore neck, sleep some more and then more.

Spend all day Sunday feeling like crap, watching DVRed shows, more season four of Dexter (holy crap people, holy crap only four more episodes to go and just WOW), Practical Magic then Twilight and half sleeping, drinking 7 up and playing the Sims.

Exciting times in the Katelinhood really.

Let's just hope this ickiness goes away, it's a busy week ahead and next weekend is set to be much more exciting and pictureful and awesome.

Hopefully your weekends were a wee bit better and healthier, anything exciting to share?

Oh! And don't forget to enter my giveaway, I mean it's for a fabulous cause people.

And Oh 2.0, today's my half birthday - weeeeee! Happy Half Birthday to me! :)

Our Wedding: Dancing Party Mania.

What? You thought I was done with wedding recap talk, pshaw of course not.

Anyone that came to our wedding will tell you that our dance floor was the place to be. As soon as the dancing started it went on ALL NIGHT and it was AWESOME. Our DJ played the perfect selection of songs that we gave him and what people requested and it was just amazing. I believe the night started with "Dynamite" and there was lots of Michael Jackson and even a Craig David song (I mean how could I not have a Craig song at my wedding??) and of course there was "Thriller" and "Shout" (the two most amazing wedding dance songs EVER, I dare you to object, well not really but you get the point) and just lots of ridiculousness all around.

Basically I was all over the place dancing with family and friends and the kidlets and the husband and thank god I could move in my dress is all I can say, haha. But really if you don't believe me, believe the pictures because clearly they say it best:

love this picture,
everyone is
getting on down.

my sister and brother weren't shy
on the
dance floor either, haha.

seriously. moves I have them.

oh how I love my fam.

we've been making moves since first grade.
hopefully our skills have improved
since then, haha.

my brother-in-law and sister
getting down with their air guitars.

say whaaaaaat.

love that everyone is laughing,
I mean how can you dance
without
some laughing?

best. picture. EVER.
this would be alex and J.R. getting down
with MATT'S GRANDMA!

Thriller? Shout?
I'm not quite sure,
but we're
all getting down (or up?) haha.

aw together again.

I think we're on the dance floor, does that count?
anyways I love this picture so I'm sharing it.

And that my friends was the best dance party we ever did throw. Er should I say wedding? Basically a fabulous wedding with lots and lots of dancing and it was all sorts of loverly, weeee!

happy weekend!

On Wednesdays we wear PINK.

I thought this title was only appropriate because well it's Wednesday, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Mean Girls is a pretty freaking fabulous movie. And not only do we wear PINK on Wednesdays we occasionally give stuff away and talk about stuff that matters (and somehow we = me, but you get the point).

Anyhoo, a couple of weeks ago Hanes emailed me asking me to blog about their efforts with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and pshaw of course I said I would, so here's what Hanes is doing this month:

Hanes has recently launched and online Design and Buy program that allows visitors to design their own T-shirts adorned with messages hope, love and support. Additionally Hanes will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from all custom T-shirts from the Design and Buy program to Komen for the Cure.

Additionally for the second year Hanes will offer its PINK Collection of panties, bras, socks and tees designed to create awareness for the cause. As a part of the collection, Hanes spokeswoman and film star Melina Kanakaredes has designed three T-shirts meant to inspire and encourage others to join her in the fight against breast cancer.

Hanes was nice enough to send me one of the shirts Melina designed and I'm only too proud to help support the cause and wear my shirt with pride:

HOPE will save the tatas! :)

And now for a giveaway, weeee! Hanes is going to give one of my fabulous freaders a shirt from their Pink collection as well.

To enter do the following:
Leave a comment with your inspiring or encouraging message for Breast Cancer Awareness. It can be something simple or silly even I just want to hear it. And make sure your email address is entered so I can contact you if you win.

For an extra entry tweet about the giveaway and leave the permalink in a separate comment.

I'll pick a winner next Wednesday, October 27th at 4pm PST.

So let's work together to save the tatas people and embrace the PINK!

Update: Congrats to Amanda for wining the giveaway!

happy wednesday!

*Hanes gave me a free shirt and another to give away and didn't tell me what the heck to write so it's all my own and of course I'd be writing about such a good cause anyways, so back on up FTC.

Back to Hollywood.

Oh Hollywood how I have missed you! I mean seriously I was getting the shakes my withdrawal was getting bad and I know my dear freaders missed knowing what ridiculousness had been happening in the past month and a half as well. Well friends, Hollywood Tuesday is back and with all sorts of goodies, so without further adieu:
  • I mean of course yes I have to start this week's Hollywood goodness with my most favorite Hollywood bebes, Violet and Seraphina, and thier oh so freaking adorableness:

Violet is a ballerina and my heart melts.

    lurve the mommy and meness.

  • In other cute bebeness we have Heidi Klum her wittle bebe Lou, seriously she is my future child, haha.

ashdaksjfh too cute for actual words.

  • In other Hollywood bebeness, Barney Stinson is a dad! Seriously though Neil Patrick Harris and his partner are now dads to twins, congrats!...also new to the parents club, Alicia Keys and hubby Swizz Beats, they welcomed son Egypt (no comment) last week...in some not as fun news two major splits hit Hollywood last week, Courteney Cox and David Arquette and Christina Aguilera and Jason Bratman, let's just hope they all keep it civil since there are youngins involved...and in case you cared, despite saving a potential jumper's life last week T.I. is headed back to jail for another 11 months (basically stop effing up buddy)...Johnny Depp is a rockstar in case you didn't know, well more like a pirate star and this story just made my heart melt with the cuteness...all sorts of stars showed up for the Scream Awards over the weekend and yeah, nothing really else to say about that, haha...lastly and Michelle Williams decided to change up her hair quite a bit (going for the Agyness Deyn look I think) and I gotta say, I'm sort of a fan:

    work it girl.

  • In some favorites news...
Let's just say this is the most awesome news of EVER. NEWSIES IS BEING BROUGHT TO THE STAGE FOR REALS. Yes I tweeted this awhile ago and yes I am still that excited about it. I mean honestly how could I not be?? Have you seen the movie??? (I hope the answer is yes or else I will question our friendship).

I'd like to remember Christian like this for always
instead of like this more recently...ew.

Also in favoriteness, the Gos lookin all rugged and cute (is it even possible to be both?) on the set of his new movie Drive:

    swooooon.

  • For today's Twilight news we have...
Breaking Dawn is about to start filming. Holy crap this movie is actually being made. I mean of course it was going to be made they weren't going to stop but after reading it I'm afraid, I really am. Nonetheless there have been some major casting announcements and looks like Louisiana is going to be hoppin with vampires and werewolves soon, oh boy.

And just for funsies, here's Rob looking all Roblike:

I'm all dark and mysterious and
    wearing a beanie and
    make girls swoon. clearly.

  • In some music news...
So I tweeted this a while back but Dead Man's Bones (aka Ryan Gosling's two man band) filmed a music video at my great aunt's nursing home and only recently did they release the video/mini movie. It's long but check it out anyways and my great aunt is in it at the two minute mark and a couple times after that, so schnazzy.

"Whip My Hair". I mean what? Am I actually pointing you to this video? Yes, yes I am. Willow Smith is TEN and has a video and a catchy song and damn you Ben for ever linking to this.

Also uber catchy, P!NK's new song "Raise Your Glass" and I realize how much I really like her music.

  • In TV news...
The Big Bang Theory. ZAZZY! That's all.

    Dexter
. I'm finally on season 4 you guys and you weren't kidding when you said it was good. Seriously I have screamed no less than 5 times and said "ooooooh" more times than I can count (it's a good thing I watch this show by myself).

Top Model. Do you have a favorite? I mean besides Tyra's ego because clearly she's the best, haha. But um I can't decide who I like besides the fact that I want to throw something every time Ann wins best picture because you know she's going to have a HORRIBLE Cover Girl commercial shoot (I'm putting bets on it now) so umm yes, better recaps are here of course.

Glee. Um no PUCK? I think this has to be a lie. Yes it must. But still, this show still makes my musical loving heart happy. And I'm sort of excited for the Rocky Horror Picture Show episode (although I've never seen it, for shame I know).

Criminal Minds. It really isn't the same without JJ and I love Garcia and I forget how much this show creeps me out and I love it at the same time, it's a little ridiculous.

Grey's Anatomy. Okay I'm ready for Cristina Yang to be Cristina Yang again and Sloane and Lexie need to hook on up again already and Meredith is sort of likeable which I appreciate and Bailey is amazing and SHIRTLESS AVERY? YES PLEASE (I mean what?).

The Mentalist. PATRICK JANE is amazing and a smart ass and has excellent hair. For those reasons you should also be watching this show, haha.

he also reads, so clearly I'm sold, haha.

  • Lastly in today's WTF news did you know that the Simpson family is Catholic? Yes the animated yellow family that's full of ridiculous has officially been declared Catholic from the head honchos over at the Vatican. I mean, what??

Ahh Hollywood it's so good to be back. So anything I missed? Let me know!

happy tuesday!

A fabulous weddingful weekend.

Another weekend that finally felt like Fall and I enjoyed every minute of it. So time to recap shall we?

Friday: After work I made my way to my father-in-law's (still so weird to say I have a FIL, haha) for a delicious dinner with him, Matt, Ryan and Michaela. It was fun to relax and wind down the day with some wine and what not. Eventually Matt and I called it a night at home and watched The Mentalist (seriously, LOVE that show) and relaxed a bit.

Saturday: Oh what a busy most awesome day it was. Megan and JR came over and we all carpooled out to Lake Hughes for my high school friend, Amin's wedding. Not only was I so excited to see Amin getting married but so many of our friends were coming out for it I couldn't wait for the mini reunion. So yes pictures were taken and it was fabulous and here we go:

these guys haven't changed a bit
and I love em for it.

the bride and groom hugging and giving flowers
to each other's mothers, such a sweet touch.

loved the table settings and the sunflowers,
just so pretty!

and the cake!
oh the cake, so pretty and tre delicious.

love this picture of the newlyweds!
the whole high school crew,
so much fun being back together again.

the Core Four.
clearly we haven't changed a bit since high
school either, haha.
me and the husband, woo.

All in all it was a lovely Muslim wedding (the first one I'd ever been to) with delicious food and a gorgeous setting (it was on a ranch) and good times with friends and just yes, loverly.

After the wedding we trekked on home and to my aunt's 50th birthday party and had cupcakes and wine with the family and just hung out and caught up and twas loverly all around.

Sunday: Let's just say it was the laziest day ever, because it pretty much was. I didn't get up until 11 (and I probably could have slept a couple more hours) and then I spent my whole day lounging, playing the Sims, watching a combination of TLC shows and Dexter (you guys weren't kidding when you said season 4 was awesome, I mean seriously wow) and lounging in my sweats listening to the rain trickling outside. Needless to say I relaxed like no other and it was just so needed and so lovely.

Basically it was just the kind of weekend I wanted and perfect for the Fall weather that accompanied it. And on to another week, woo!

And how was your weekend? Did you go to any weddings (because seriously I feel like there were a ton of weddings this weekend)?

happy monday!

Travelin.

First of all, thank you for all of the kind comments on yesterday's post, it was just something on my mind and something to get out of my system and thank you for listenin.

Anyhoozits, in more positive and ridiculous talk, lately I've been thinking ahead to the next couple of months and the trips that are in store for me and I can barely contain my excitement. If you know me you know that I've always had a travel bug and I love going ANYWHERE and ever since we got back from our honeymoon (yes, the one to Italy that I have yet to discuss or share, ridiculous right?) I've been itching for another trip, another vacation. Luckily I've got so much coming up in the next couple of months that it'll be hard for me to get stir crazy.

So today I feel like sharing where the the next fourteen months are taking me:

Aptos, California
Greensboro, North Carolina
I booked this trip literally two days ago because I decided I couldn't wait until next June to see my BFF Jen, and really...can you blame me, haha?

New Orleans, Louisiana
Las Vegas, Nevada
Columbus, Ohio
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico this trip isn't for sure but oh how I want it to work out.
San Diego, California
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
So excited to actually vist the city and celebrate Zoe's wedding, I mean how cute our dresses will be swapped next time we take this picture :)

Other potential destinations for the coming months include: San Francisco, Santa Barbara and New York. (because apparently I can't sit still, haha)

Needless to say I am excited and in the midst of all of this Matt and I are thinking about moving, I mean seriously I think I'm crazy sometimes.

So are you heading anywhere soon? Any trips to the LA area because I always love a good blogger meetup you know?

happy friday!

Skinny bitch.*

Hi. I'm Katelin.

I'm 26 years old, 5'9" and 158 pounds (give or take, it's been a while since I've been on a scale) and my jeans are a size 10.

Most days I try to embrace these features, I applaud these features, it's who I am, a healthy young woman. A woman with curves and boobs and an ass. But then there are other days, other days when a size 10 doesn't feel so good or even healthy and when my weight seems to have migrated only to my stomach and my jeans feel a little snug. Those are the days I dread, those are the days when I say I'm going to start working out again and stop eating so much cheese and drinking so much wine. And it's always on those days where I see an article like this to make me feel like a size 10 isn't normal after all, it's rather "plus size."

Lately I've been having some of the other days. But I can't complain about it or whine because all I have to do is wake up early, work out on the Wii or go walking with my mom after work and maybe cut back on the crap food and I'd be okay again, I'd feel like I did six months. It's the other days that remind me I have to be the one to change myself, to be the Loser to embrace the Me-Over and get serious.

So here's to hoping to more of the every days and not the other days and making an effort to love the woman I am.

*no idea why I picked this title but I wrote it and it stuck.

happy thursday!

A Spooktacular weekend.

So I was totally going to post a weekend recap yesterday and try and get back on some sort of blogging schedule but then Matt had to go and get all cute and surprise me with a full day o fun, haha. Anyhoozits, the weekend in a word: AMAZING. I know I say this every time, but all weekends should be three days, it's just so much better that way. So weekend? Go:

Friday: After work I headed home and Matt and I met up with some friends for dinner at a delicious little BBQ place. I mean they have pulled pork quesadillas, how can you go wrong with that?! (answer: you can't. it's delicious!) It was fun to just hang out and have a good time and destress from the week, loverly.

Saturday: Slept in a bit before going on an errand spree. Seriously I felt like I was on a gameshow. Matt and I returned some duplicate wedding gifts and then went on the best grocery shopping trip ever. Seriously, the store is closing down until June so everything (and I mean EVERYTHING - hello wine and cheese my good friends) was 50% off, it was insanity and awesomeness. To celebrate we went to Universal Studios for the afternoon and had a cute little date night and twas just lovely.

Sunday: Sundays have become "my day" since Matt goes and watched football and I'm quite alright with it, haha. So my day was spent with some more errands, catching up on my DVR recordings and starting Dexter Season 4 (I know right?! YES! So good already!). Basically the day was lazy and perfect and I sort of like having time to myself every now and then.

Monday: Oh sweet random October holiday how I love you. And what I love even more is Matt waking me at 9:30 by saying "get dressed and don't ask questions we have a surprise day." So I got dressed and we were on our way! And where to?! Only the happiest place on Earth! DISNEYLAND!!

Seriously Matt knew that I'd been in a bit of a funk lately and felt like I needed a pick-me-up and seriously how could Disneyland not cheer me up?? (and yes Matt definitely surprised me with a trip to Disneyland for Halloween last year, and yes I was just as surprised and just as excited because man do I LOVE that place). The day was awesome. We walked around all day, went on every ride we wanted, went to both parks (California Adventure, yes please!), ate park food and ice cream and laughed and just had a great time together (sapfest? Yes, I know). Anyhoo, apparently I forgot to take a lot pictures (which I'm come to terms with being okay with these days) but some will suffice:

seriously how CUTE is this Mickey pumpkin.

hello Main Street.

Matt and Jack Sparrow, love this ride.

a little nigh action on Main Street.

I mean yeah I was uber sore yesterday and incredibly exhausted but thank goodness for a four day work week and loverliness.

And how was your weekend? Did you have Monday off? Do anything ridiculous?

happy wednesday!
