Some things.

It's been a busy, crazy albeit short week for me so here goes a super short bullet point post:
  • I'm headed to Houston today for the Mom 2.0 Summit and if it's anything like last year's I cannot wait.

  • Allison, Jessica and Britney will be there as well which is all sorts of fun times.

  • Last year there was a Robin Williams and Jason Kidd sighting, how about Bill Engvall or Derek Fisher this year?

  • I get back from Houston Saturday afternoon and I'm walking in the Pasadena half marathon Sunday morning. Yes I am a crazy person but fingers crossed I make it!

  • There won't be a Top Ten post tomorrow because I just didn't have time to write one, like I said, a crazy busy week.

  • Matt and I watched Terminator Salvation last night and seriously, Sam Worthington has moved up the list, he's probably in the teens somewhere.

  • But don't worry I still love this guy best:

Hope you all have a fabulous day and a most lovely weekend, woo!

Moving Sale.

First of all, thank you for all the comments on yesterday's post with our engagement pictures. Matt and I really had a good time all around and are just a silly pair and I'm glad you liked them. And perhaps I'll share some more later, we'll see about that.

Anyhoo, moving on.....So I haven't really mentioned it on here before but my office is moving...upstairs. And because we're moving and getting all swankified we'll no longer be able to put stuff up on our walls. Not a big deal right? Welllll..... this is what my office space currently looks like:

What can I say? I accumulate pictures and posters and random crap and just put it up on the wall. And most of it is stuff I don't want to put up at home so it goes up here. Well not any more. Some of the stuff I'll throw away, other stuff I'll find a way to make work in the new space, others will come home with me and then there's the stuff that I have no idea what to do so I figured I'd give it away. I know this post says Sale but really I just want my random crap to find a good home. So what random crap is it you ask?

An autographed poster of Little Miss Sunshine. Seriously it's signed by the whole cast.

A not signed but equally awesome poster of Puck and Artie from Glee.

An genie themed Bratz doll.

A Johnson Family Vacation trucker hat.

A Smack Down Raw action figure.

A Hercules glass mug.

A Scooby Doo bank.

So do you want any of this? Email me 0r comment here and I'll send it your way. I'm packing up next week so let me know soon. I mean how could you not want a Hercules mug or a genie Bratz doll, haha???

and please tell me I'm not the only one with too much stuff around their desk, please!

Margaritas for Christmas.

Monday night was my office work party and as always it didn't disappoint. Although not as crazy and ridiculous as past Christmas parties it was still a great time. There was delicious Mexican food, some of the best margaritas I've ever had (and I mean EVER, thank you agave nectar), some pretty schnazzy sounding mariachis, "old school" music and lots and lots of laughs.

my attempt at getting a big party shot.

me and Nicole enjoying our margaritas.

enjoying the massive shower
in the bathroom, haha.

Kimmy wanted to test it out too.

we're some frisky ladies, haha.

And that my friends, was the makings of another successful office Christmas party.

Big Birthday, even bigger news!

aka The best birthday in the history of all of my birthdays Part I.

First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for the fabulous birthday wishes and tweets and Facebook posts and everything, it was so incredibly sweet and you are all rock stars.

Secondly, remember when I said that Matt told me he got the "best present in the history of presents"? Yeah well his present definitely lived up to his claim. It was the best present I could ever possibly ask for.

Backing up a bit, Friday at work was awesome. Got to go to lunch with some coworkers and after lunch we were supposed to have a meeting but instead we went and had cupcakes and it was great. Even better my boss let me leave a bit early so I could make it home in time for the plans Matt had made.

So I get home, get all dolled up for dinner and we hit the road. Before I know it we're by LAX but I wasn't really paying attention too much. Matt "missed" his exit and we ended up having to go to LAX which I still didn't really think about as anything and before I knew it we had pulled up to a gate and there was my best friend Jen!!! Matt had flown her in for my birthday. I most definitely screamed and jumped out of the car and cried a bit from happiness and ah! It was such an awesome surprise.

After we got Jen we headed back up to Pasadena and Matt said we were going to stop at our apartment so Jen could drop her stuff off and what not. So we walk in to the apartment and this is what I saw...

I squealed yet again!! My parents had come over and decorated with birthday signs and balloons and dropped off the dinner Matt had ordered and even left a pitcher of margaritas! Seriously it was so cute. I was so excited to have dinner in with two of my favorite people and talk and drink and just have a good time.

After dinner was done Matt said he had one more gift for me but it was outside so I had to walk out with him. Then he stopped me on our porch and told me to close my eyes while he went to go get it. I was such a nerd and said I didn't want to keep my eyes closed because I was afraid of the bugs. But before I knew it Matt told me to open my eyes and when I did he was on one knee in front of me with the most perfect ring ever. He didn't even have time to propose before I started crying and saying "ohmygod are you serious?! are you serious?!" I was such a teary, goofy mess and eventually Matt got up and asked me to marry him. And I yelled out "of course!!"

And Jen, being the best friend that she is stayed inside ready with the camera for when we came back in. So she got these great shots of the newly engaged us! Ah! I still can't believe it!

ohmyfreakingoodnessihaveafiance!

kisses and more kisses!

of course I had to get a picture with Jen!
ah! so glad she was here to share it with me.

letting our family and friends know

toasting to our future marriage...ohmygosh marriage!
haha, I still can't get over it.
obviously. :)

and Jen took a picture of the ring,
I am very much in love with it

So folks that was my Friday and my goodness I couldn't be any happier.

Part II of the birthday coming tomorrow and then I promise the Joshua Jackson story, but you can't blame me for posting this first :)

Cheeseburgers make the weekend go round.

Why hello there freaders. I apologize now if this post is rambling and incoherent because I am currently hopped up on Dayquil, Advil and slept pretty much all day long yesterday. Anyhoo moving on....

Thursday: Woke up early and hopped a flight to Houston. Woo! I was lucky enough to have a middle seat in between a very large man and a very tall guy. Yeah it was awesome (ummmmno). The only good thing that came out of that was that I got to finish reading Confessions of a Shopaholic (which was pretty cute). Once I got to Houston I relaxed in my hotel a bit before heading to a mixer for the Mom 2.0 Summit. I was slightly nervous that I wouldn't know anyone, granted I was there for work, but everyone was so sociable and nice, it was great.

Friday: All day conferencing and hanging out and it was not only informative but good times too. One of the best surprises was that Allison from Confessions of a Cohabitant ended up being there for work also so we got to hang out all weekend which was a nice surprise. After the conference ended for the day there was a big Mardi Gras carnivale party which was a pretty good time.

the four non-married, non-mom PR girls :)

The best part of the night though had to be once most people had left and the Cheeseburger party commenced. Several mom bloggers started a tradition of the Cheeseburger party at BlogHer '07 and have basically kept it going, I went to the one at BlogHer last year and it was so much fun, this one was no exception.

Me, Allison and Brittney rockin the bag hat look

Who doesn't love a good cheeseburger?

I had to get a picture with one of the party planners,
Yvonne from Joy Unexpected, heart her and her blog

oh so many cheeseburgers!

Seriously it was so much fun! Afterwards me and Brittney headed back to Allison's mini apartment, haha. I swear, we felt like celebs! All in all it was a great night.

Saturday: Finished up the conference and flew back to LA with much better sleeping success. However I did start to feel sick which wasn't too hot. Matt and my sister picked me up from the airport and we went straight to Matt's brother's birthday party at his new apartment. I drank wine to try and help the sickness from coming on and it worked for a bit, haha. All in all the party was a good time, the new apartment was great and the people were awesome. Woo.

Sunday: Yeah I woke up feeling like absolute crap. Feverish, achey, sore throat, yeah all of the above. I spent the majority of my day in bed and drinking water, it was awful. Luckily I finally rallied enough to watch the Academy Awards (oh yes that recap is coming tomorrow) granted I still felt like crap, uck. Eventually I just called it a night and hoped I would be good enough to make it to work today, so eh. Apparently I'm just not cut out for busy traveling weekends all the time, haha.

And how was your weekend? Watch the Oscar's? Avoid sickness I hope?

happy monday!

Grace in small things.

So I've seen this idea on a couple people's blogs lately and you know what, I love it. Even better, it's a whole Ning group of happiness and a battle against embitterment, I mean how can you not like that? It's always good to step back and think of the little things that make the day just a little bit better.

1. Listening to a song over and over again, possibly day dreaming.
2. Wearing my Reefs in February.
3. Actually waking up to work it on the Wii, I'm so proud of myself.
4. Drinking not so tasty tea only to enhance it with lots and lots of honey.
5. The yellow rubber duck on my desk.

All of this awesome, brought to you by me! Katelin!

This post is full of Awesome.

Seriously, it is. Because it's Friday and my brain has been fried from work and life and too much wine and Wii playing, I'm going to share all of the awesome that encompasses my life right now.

Enjoy!
  • Today is Friday! Friday = awesome.

  • This morning I woke up, did some Wii boxing, I'm getting fit...it's awesome.

  • Yesterday at work I got congrats for doing such a good job on a campaign...pats on back = awesome.

  • Did I mention it's Friday? Yeah that's awesome.

  • One of my bosses is amazing and knows people who work with O.A.R. so I'm hopefully seeing them next Friday and I can barely contain my excitement. O.A.R. = awesome to the max!

  • Speaking of music, Josh Kelley is performing at the Hotel Cafe next Wednesday at 10 if anyone would like to join me??? I need a concert buddy because JK = awesomeeee.

  • Tomorrow is one of my best friend's birthday, I wrote her a fabulous birthday post last year and I don't really think I can top it. So here it is for you to check out again.

    Happy Birthday Megan!

  • And for her birthday we're heading to the beach....in January....California = awesome.

  • Not only that but we're staying at a hotel on the beach, in a suite, where we can party, and then take a cab to the bar and no one will have to drive. Yeah, that's just awesome in a bottle. (I have no idea what that means, haha)

  • Yesterday I booked a free trip I had to Vegas for Matt and I in March. And it's not for a wedding! Two points to me for fun times and actually starting in on my New Year's resolutions! Free trip to Vegas, the boyfriend, fulfilling goals = awesomeness.

  • The Super Bowl giveaway is still going strong, so don't forget to enter!

  • Oh and did I mention that it's Friday meaning 6:30 is officially the weekend? I did? Oh. Well did I mention it's a three day weekend? No? I didn't. Because I forgot and lspoon reminded me? Yes. Yes a three day weekend is all sorts of awesome. Holla.

And that my friends is all that is awesome in the world of Katelin right now. Hope you have a weekend full of awesomeness. Woo!

Christmas is all around.

Seriously people, I love Christmastime. This weekend was amazing! So much fun, so much Christmasness, so many parties and all around fantabulousness. I'm warning you now, this post may be a wee bit long, but there are plenty of pictures to compensate, woo:

Thursday: The day of the office holiday party, woo. As I mentioned on Friday it was a grand ole time of debaucherous fun and now I have some pictures to go with it:

everyone getting their drink on, woo woo

rockin "the duck" face

we just looove kimmy, haha

Nikki testing out her furry petter hand on me, haha

love these guys

Seriously it was a great night, even if we were freezing outside (yes freezing, 46 is cold people!), haha. I love my work parties, always a good time, especially with an open bar, haha.

Friday: After getting off work a little early Matt and I headed off to a birthday dinner for our friend. It was fun meeting some of her other friends and having tasty Mexican food and pina coladas (I was so set on having margaritas, but I overdid my margaritaness at the work party, haha). After going into a nice food coma we came home and caught up on our DVR and relaxed a bit, saving our energy for our party the next time. Twas loverly.

Saturday: The day of holiday awesome. After starting off the day on an errand frenzy Matt and I finally got our place fully decorated with lights and more ornaments on the tree, got food and drinks ready and were all decked out in our Christmas best for one hell of a party:

Matt and I in front of the tree,

to
Mariah Carey at two in the morning, haha

All in all it was one hell of a party. We somehow fit 30ish people in our little apartment, danced the night away and drank massive amounts of alcohol goodness and had a grand ole Christmas time. Woo.

Sunday: After sleeping in a bit, we woke up to one partied out apartment, haha. After some cleaning Matt and I headed off to watch my most favorite thing about Christmas, the Nutcracker. Seriously it just makes me so incredibly happy to watch it and pretend I'm a ballerina. I think I may have even teared up watching it I was so happy (but don't tell Matt, he already thinks I'm a weirdo, haha). Basically it was amazing and I love seeing it every year.

Matt and I at intermission
*note the new necklace, an early Xmas gift from Matt
loooooove it :)

After the Nutcracker we headed over to my friend's cookie party where lots of friends and their families showed up, enjoyed good food and company, and decorated a ton of cookies, it was so much fun. And my friend's son was definitely entertaining, especially as he worked on his modeling moves, haha:

freaking how cute is he?!?

Anyhoo that was my weekend and I'm so bummed it's over because it was fabulous.

And how was your weekend? Any holidayness activities?

happy monday!
