TAFOASPHFW.

Annnnd I'm back. Back to work, back to life, back to the blog. And what better day to come back to than a Friday!? Wahoo!

Anyhoodles, so yesterday we learned that I am not in fact a Doctor and by saying so I jinxed myself and had to take a sick day to recuperate. However I can say that by staying home sick I learned a plethora of new knowledge that I just have to share of course...so I bring you "The Amazing Findings of a Sick(ish) Person Home From Work" also known as TAFOASPHFW, haha.
  • Not being able to talk (or even sing along to shower music) is incredibly hard for someone like me to do who talks a lot.

  • Honey is magic to a sore throat. Not even kidding. I don't know if it's because I love honey or I just finished The Secret Life of Bees but I had an english muffin lathered with honey and then proceded to have at least three spoonfuls of just honey over the day to coat my throat and it felt a hundred times better. Amazing I say.

  • Ricola, Sudafed and Advil are also magic. Zicam would be magic if I didn't buy the nasal gel which is way to weird to me and makes my throat hurt more than it did before I used it, ugh.

  • Also in the magical realm of cures: chicken noodle soup and raspberry tea. Magical I say.

  • The Sex and the City movie is even better the second time around. Even if I was on a ton of meds and dosing in and out of sleep I loved it just as much. I also decided that Samantha and Edie from Desperate Housewives are the same character, older woman sexpot, rock it ladies, haha.

  • I will always love Titanic. And Kate. And Leo. And Kate and Leo together. Le swooon. (8th grade Katelin is that you I hear?)

  • Despite my previous claims of watching Titanic seven times in theaters I realized that it was in fact five times.

  • No matter how many times I watch Titanic I always cry at the exact same spot. No it's not when Jack dies (oh did I ruin it for you? but really you should know this by now, the movie is 12 years old!) but when Rose jumps off the life boat and back on the Titanic and runs to Jack. Precious.

  • Okay one more Titanic finding...I love that I own it on DVD and can fast forward through all the "present day" parts, they're not nearly as cool as the rest of the movie.

  • After being cooped up inside and sleeping/watching TV/consuming honey it's good to walk a couple blocks outside to get some fresh air...especially when the fresh air is no longer 97 degrees (thank goodness!).

  • Toasters are hot. Although you might be sick don't forget that they're realllly hot so you don't...you know...burn your thumb knuckle trying to get an english muffin out. Gah.

  • Only checking your work email twice throughout the day is heaven sent. A sick day is meant to be sick and relax and not focused on work.

  • Watch out for Nyquil induced dreams. I dreamt that I was babysitting Halle Berry's baby at the zoo until Spencer took over and I went off for the day with Heidi...yeaaaaah not a good dream at all, minus little Nahla, she was a doll. Heidi? Yeah I would shoot myself.

  • Get a boyfriend (just not mine, haha) that will cook you a delicious dinner even if he's sickish too...yeah he got it from you...and watch Grey's Anatomy with you. Now that's a cure for sickness. :)

  • Sleep away the sickness, sleep away. Or sleep away/watch fabulous movies and your day will be so much better.

And that my friends pretty much sums up my sick day findings.
And how do you spend your sick days?

But here's to hoping you have no sick days soon! fingers crossed.

and it's Friday!

happy weekend!

I jinxed my health.

It's funny that yesterday I said "Call me Dr. Katelin" since today is the first sick day I've taken in about eight months. So yes, a sick day from work, a sick day from life, and alas a sick day from this blog. As some of you may have noticed in my tweets yesterday I was praying to the gods of healthy to keep me intact, but alas I have lost the battle. So I'm staying home today resting my throat, my achy head and overall my body by getting as much sleep as I possibly can and most likely finally watch the Sex and the City movie, superb.

In the meantime enjoy this ridiculous Hoff video that always cracks me up.

happy thursday!

Just call me Dr. Katelin.

Well it's not like I have a PhD in helpful hints or am all knowing, but I would like to impart some of my latest knowledge upon you all that I find to be quite useful. And the top ten goes something like this:

One. If you think you've somehow messed your blog layout and it goes array, do not fret. It will be okay. Case and point, my blog's recent three column makeover. I had several freak out sessions but I'm pretty sure it's okay now.

Dos. Although waking up at 3:45 is horrendous, I highly recommend early bird travels to the East Coast. It makes it so much better to have a whole afternoon while there. You won't regret it....at least not right away :)

Threeee. Need a new song to put on repeat? Of course you do. Leona Lewis's newest "Forgive Me" has been on repeat since yesterday and added to the coveted workout mix, oh she is awesome.

Fooooooore! There is nothing like your friend's kid turning two to make you think "Good gracious I'm old!", "I want one", "Errrr no I really don't" all within a two second span of each other.

Five. Training for a half marathon will get you into shape without you even noticing it. Apparently I look like I've lost weight (which turns out I have) and I didn't even notice. It's a great feeling.

Sixxxxx. DVR is the greatest thing ever. Ever. If you have issues deciding what shows to watch apparently you don't own a DVR. I didn't have one until this summer and I really can't imagine my life without it now. Granted I do watch a ton of television, but that's neither here nor there, DVR will allow you a social life (two points!).

Sevenly. No matter what advice anyone gives you, there really is no way to fully prepare living on your own or with a boyfriend. So my advice is take the advice but don't live by it, you just have to figure it out yourself.

Eight. Always embrace a theme party. After revisiting my college last weekend one of the first things that struck out to me was how much I missed a good theme party. I missed it so much that I've already decided that my birthday bonanza in April will most definitely be themed. I cannot wait :)

Niner. Although you may start off not having faith in your favorite sports team and they may have tended to lose every time you see them play it doesn't mean they can't make it to playoffs. (holla holla go DODGERS!).

Big Ten. Feel free to get lost in a book. I've gotten lost in more books than I can keep track of lately and it is amazing. Seriously reading on my lunch break has given me a much better piece of mind and definitely makes the work day better.

And that my friends is all the knowledge I have to share today. And what have you learned lately?

happy wednesday!

Celebrities make the Hollywood post go round.

So Hollywood was all a whirl this week/end (actually I have no idea what that really means but I thought I'd use it...anyhoo...moving on). And there is plenty to share, so let's not waste any time and get going:
  • This week's cute bebe comes from the Jolie-Pitt family. It's bee too long since we've seen the cuteness that is Shiloh, the bad assness of Z and the spaced out adorableness of Pax, but alas they have returned to good ole Nola with mama Angelina:

    presh!

In other Jolie-Pitt news Angelia and Brad went to the NYC premiere of Changeling (which looks amazing by the way) and seriously they don't look like they've been up all night with six kids and I am impressed. And apparently in between all of that Angelina had time to get two more tatoos for Viv and Knox. Yeah I'm not gonna lie, it's kind of cool she has all of her kids locations of birth tattooed on her.

  • In other cute bebe news, Marcia Cross seems to always be out and about having a great time with her girls and seriously it's adorable. And I just couldn't resist this picture of Marcia and Savannah together....absolutely adorable:

  • In other celebrity/movie news, Sunday night was the premiere of Leo and Russel's new flick Body of Lies. Now I don't really know how I feel about the movie and Leo's facial hair, but I do know that I am a fan of him in his dashing suit at the premiere. Seriously Leo cleans up so well. Which reminds me, on Saturday (or was it Friday?) Titanic was on TBS (or was it TNT?) and we watched like the very end when old Rose throws the necklace over and I was pretty bummed I had missed the whole movie, because let's be honest I saw it seven times in theater and I am not at all embarrassed by that, haha. But I did love the end when Jack and Rose are reunited, aw le swoon. Where am I going with this? I have no idea. But here's a pic of Leo at the premiere, man is he dashing:

  • In funny news, did anyone watch SNL on Saturday? Seriously they are on a roll with all the Pallin stuff it's hilarious. I highly recommend checking it out stat if you want a good laugh.

  • And in the land of television...
Desperate Housewives. I am so glad Mike is alive and kickin and as cute as ever. And speaking of Susan's exes I'm glad they brought back her first husband too, I mean seriously how do they explain some characters just disappearing? And in other character news...Parker Scavo finally showed up. And is it me or does he not look like he could be 18 and older than the twins??? And Carlos just keeps getting cuter every episode I sort of love his undying love for Gaby...so cute.

Top Model. All I have to say is thank goodness Clark is gone. I did not think she'd be going far anyways but she was just way too mean to Isis and definitely deserved the boot.

Heroes. Ummmmm. That's about all I got. This show is taking so many twists and turns I can't really even keep track of what the heck is going on.

The Hills. Apparently there was some rumor that Lauren hooked up with Justin Bobby and Audrina believed it and now they're on the outs and Audrina was out eating lunch with Heidi. Crazy pants people, crazy pants. And Heidi wants to be friends with Lauren? And Holly who made you Dr. Phil? I mean really. Stop it already, haha. But really, the drama is getting to be a wee bit much? Why oh why do I watch this show? Someone tell me. Oy.

  • Today's WTF news comes in the form of a cookbook. Yes I say, a cook book. Apparently a Siberian man thought that everyone needed a testicle cookbook. I'm not even kidding. It's a whole cookbook using animal testicles. Seriously, ew. Ew.

And that's all I got today kids. Hollywood's a funny one.

Oh but don't forget to check out my guest spot at Jamie's today talking about my undying love for NKOTB and the best pictures eva....obviously.

happy tuesday!

Weekend-o-girly-awesomeness.

So as you know I spent my weekend jet setting across the country to visit some of my most favorite people and man was it worth it. First of all, thank you Jamie for stepping in on Friday's post, seriously there's no denying the NKOTB awesomeness.

So anyhoo...the weekend...wore.me.out. But as I said, most definitely worth it. A couple of college friends got together to hang out in good ole Columbus, Ohio to reminisce, be crazy and have a good time. And of course it was an all around whirlwind, so here goes:

Thursday: I was up way to incredibly early to head to LAX. Luckily my dad took me to the airport where I barely made my flight because everyone and their mother flies at 6 in the morning, gah. But luckily I made it okay, got some sleep, did some more reading (The Secret Life of Bees is pretty good so far) and got some more sleep. I got in to the OH in the late afternoon where my friend Liz picked me up and brought me back to her place (which I loooove) to hang out for a bit, relax, talk, all that lovely stuff. Afterwards my friend VA came over and we all headed to dinner at this fab little place on High Street. Seriously, High Street has some great places and it's awesome how we could walk everywhere, I loved it. After a tasty dinner we came back to Liz's place to drink wine and watch bad TV, my kind of girlicious evening.

Friday: Liz took the day off to hang out with me and we started the day making muffins (yummm) and eating them of course, haha. Afterwards we headed over to Ohio State's campus to visit my cousin for lunch. It was so fun to see him but man it just made me miss college, haha. After lunch Liz and I headed to Easton...aka the best shopping around, haha. I absolutely love that place. If you're ever in Columbus I highly recommend checking it out, although be warned it will make a nice dent in wallet, haha. Post Easton we hit up another Midwest favorite of mine, Caribou Coffee for some of their amazing Hot Apple Blast (delish!) Seriously I loved the fact that it was coldish and I could visit some of my fave spots.

For dinner we all went to some cute little cafe place and even got to meet up with the fabulous Michelle. Seriously, I was so nervous to meet her but she was just as awesome in person as I would imagine from reading her blog :)

After dinner, me, Liz and VA headed to the airport to get Jen, woo. We all headed back to Liz's place to pregame a bit have some fun before heading out for the night. Seriously I love girly nights, haha.

Seriously who can say no to wine and Apples to Apples, haha?

After some playing we headed out to a bar in Columbus that had cheap drinks, lots of people and some fun music, basically the recipe for a great time.

me and Jen

who knows what we're laughing about, haha

much better shot of the four of us

AJ just happened to be in town too College kids together again, woo

All in all it was a fun night out...who knew Columbus could be so hoppin? :)

Saturday: None of us set our alarms expecting that we'd wake up earlyish...yeeeeeah we didn't get up until 11...and it was awesome, haha. After a long sleep we all got ready for the day then headed out to visit our alma mater. On the way we saw this driving on the road:

Yeah we couldn't help laughing at that one, a giant root beer being pulled along by the thirst ambulance, haha. Finally we made it to campus and walked around a bit. Seriously I feel like if I threw on some sweats, had a shoulder bag and my hair in a pony tail I could be a student again, haha. But man did I miss it. We even walked around one of our old dorms and got jealous at how clean the bathrooms were and how much the halls didn't smell like popcorn and stale beer, haha.

posing in front of the student center

I can't help but take pictures of pretty trees

After leaving campus we moseyed on back to Columbus to wait for one more friend to show up. Once Lindsay arrived we all hung out, pregamed, moseyed around and finally headed to High Street for dinner. It was so much fun to hang out with the girls and talk about what we've been up to and just laugh over ridiculous things, twas lovely.

And who knew we'd run into our future president on the streets of Ohio?

We felt so honored to be so close to Barack, haha. We even got some schnazzy pins too, woo woo. After our celebrity run in we headed back to Liz's place to hang out some more with good intentions of heading out again to the Columbus gallery hop...however we ended up all staying in, playing Kings and laughing at ridiculous things....such as Lindsay falling asleep, haha:

and Liz dressing as a babushka, haha:

Yeah we're a little ridiculous sometimes but man was it fun. I seriously heart those girls.

Sunday: Sadly I had another freakin early flight and had to come on back to Los Angeles. Luckily though there were no flight problems and I made it back fine. The day was spent lazying around catching up on my DVRed shows and hanging out with Matt. Twas loverly.

But man as much as I caught up on sleep I feel like I can sleep five more days at least, haha. All those early flights and contortionist type moves I had to make to sleep on the plane really did nothing for my sleep schedule, haha.

Anyhoodles, how was all your weekends? Anything big I should know about since I probably won't be able to read all 800 something posts in my reader, haha? Do tell.

Wahoo!

pps. Go Dodgers! :)

happy monday!

jealous much?

I had actually was saving this for my blog but once I talked to Katelin about guest posting, I knew it belonged here! Oh, this is Jamie, by the way. I'm filling in while the regular keeper of this blog is hanging out in Ohio.

When I was little I was a huge New Kids on the Block fan, just like Katelin. I mean, I had posters, bed sheets and even dolls. My prize possessions though were my NKOTB slippers.

Yes, they were sneaker slippers. Big puffy sneaker slippers with neon pink and green all over them. I lived in those things.

Want to see what they look like?

Of course you do!

Let's check out little Jamie with her amazing NKOTB slippers.

Okay, you got me. That's not really me. I never was a little blond girl. I had a little help doctoring* that photo because it was the ONLY photo I could find of those slippers.

They are awesome though, right?!

So I shared my slightly embarrassing, but still AMAZING, memorabilia with the internets. It's your turn.

I know you have some Menudo shirts or Spice Girls dolls hiding in the back of your closet that you are just dying to share.

Spill it!

* this guest post wouldn't have been possible without Christophr's super cool photoshopping skills.
** dude, while tagging this entry I realized Katelin already had a tag called "Jamie is awesome". This further proves that we should be BFFs. But really, I am awesome so go check out my blog.

I love it! (oooor dislike it).

Love Love Love: That as you're reading this I'm en route to good ole Columbus, Ohio.
Dislike: I'm probably lookin like a hot mess since I had to be at LAX at 5 so I've been up since 4:30...shudder.

Love Love Love: I'm going to Columbus for the weekend to hang out with these fine ladies!

Dislike
: We'll be missing three of our fabulous Eight Great group :(

Love: I'll finally be able to explore downtown Columbus which I somehow missed going to college 30 minutes away.
Dislike: I'll only have a weekend to do it!

Loooove: My liver is recovered from last weekend's party hardyness and is ready to go like a champ
Dislike: As much as I think I'm ready to party, I am sadly no longer 21 and most likely my liver will revolt. Damn you liver!

Love Lurve: Spending so much time with just girls and talking about girly things and doing girly things and just being girly!
Dislike: Um there's nothing to dislike about be overly girly for a weekend, especially when you live with a boy (I still love you Matt). :)

Loooooove: Visiting my college and seeing how much has changed in two years.
Dislike: That I don't still go there.

Absolutely Love: It's October! And I'm going to Columbus! October + Columbus, OH = most beautiful time of the year.
Dislike: I can't dislike that, 70 degrees is way better than the ridiculous 99 degrees heat we're having in California.

Love: I can bust out the sweaters and some scarves and rock the Fall look even if just for a weekend.
Dislike: This also means I have to wear shoes....I don't really like shoes.... so we'll see about that.

Love: I've got an ipod full of new tunes, my latest read, and comfy sweats ready for whatever travel adventures come my way.
Dislike: Being at the whim of airlines and the weather gods. Dearest all, pray for me to make it to and from in one piece within a reasonable time.

Love Love Love: My friends, traveling, the Fall, all of it! Wahoo!

and what do you love or dislike today?

pps. stay tuned for one fantabulous guest blogger manana. woot!

Huzzah for Hollywood.

Oh man what a break indeed. And I needed it. I had four meetings, two phone calls and endless amounts of report doing and campaign organizing yesterday. What a way to end September, haha. But thank goodness for lunch breaks and new books (The Secret Life of Bees if you're curious). But just because I didn't post about Hollywood doesn't mean there isn't a ton to talk about, so sit back and get ready for the crazy:
  • So it's clearly not a Hollywood post of mine if there isn't a cute bebe or two to start it off. And today's cutie pie comes courtesy of Naomi Watts once again and her precious little tot, Alexander....freakin adorable:

  • Another adorable tot is little Kingston, seriously this kid is adorable. And I bet he's a superb older brother already, he can give Alexander some pointers:

  • From cute bebes we get a little more serious and take the time to remember a legend that passed away over the weekend, Paul Newman. Now I'm going to be honest and say I haven't really seen any of his movies (er not that I can remember) but the man is a Hollywood icon and will definitely be missed. At least we'll always see his face on those tasty salad dressings :)

  • In other sad, but uplifting news, both DJ AM and Travis Barker have been released from the hospital and are currently on the road to further recovery pending from the fatal plane crash they were involved in two weeks ago. DJ AM was even well enough to attend a memorial service for one of the victims yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families involved.

  • And for some more celeb round ups we have:

  • Oh man and my TV, oh my TV.
Desperate Housewives. *spoiler alert*As I've mentioned before this was one of my favorite finales of all last season, so I was more than excited for it's return. And I'm not going to lie, when Mike came on the screen at the end of the episode I squealed with delight and yelled "He's Alive!!!!". Yeah Matt had no idea what I was talking about. But man I would have been pissed if they really killed him, he's my fave on the show. Anyhoo, I loved the premiere. I thought it was great to see everyone's new lives and all the weird changes and all the drama that's about to happen (per usual). All in all, looks like the potential for a great season.

    The Hills
. Why do I watch? Why? Everytime I watch I just want to throw something at Spencer. Seriously could he be a bigger dbag to Heidi's mom? And could Heidi be any dumber for actually being on his side? I mean really, it's just ridiculous. And then we have the whole Stephanie/Doug thing, I mean what really happened here? Do we even know? I agree with Trent and think they're both just shady folks who clearly don't know what really happened between them and feel the need to talk about it 24/7. And Whitney, I heart you. I really can't wait for your own show that hopefully won't have some lame HS drama on it...just grown up type drama okay? Oh and unrelated to last night's episode apparently there is more drama going on between Lauren and Audrina according to their respective Myspace accounts. Just kiss and make up ladies, you're both cool and love the drama, just drop the lame boys and mean Lo and you'll be good, okay? Great. Thanks. See you next week.

Heroes. Is it just me or is the show still confusing? People are dead, they're alive, they're clone babies, they are hiding in other people's bodies, they kill people, they save people, they paint in Africa, they time travel!!?!? Gah. It's almost too much. But of course I'll still be watching next week. I need to know what happens okay?

How I Met Your Mother. I love this show. You should too. And then we can talk about it. And it will be legen......wait for it.........dary. :)

  • And to top of this post of awesome random Hollywood happenings I bring you this week's WTF. A woman in Middleton, Ohio (hopefully that's nowhere near where I'm headin this weekend, haha) was arrested for driving like a crazy person and chasing down children. But that's not all....she was wearing a cow suit. Seriously woman, seriously? I want to know what she was smoking that day, haha.

And that's what I got today folks. Whew.

happy wednesday!

Stop. Break it down.

This is me saying "stop. hold up. wait a minute. break it down."

err really it's just me dancing, but you get the point.

I'm taking the day off of blogging today.
I'm exhausted and could probably use five days to sleep.
Too bad that's not happening any time soon, oy vey.

Come back tomorrow where I'll hopefully be well rested and full of
ridiculous celebrity fun facts and TV show recaps and celebrity nonsense.

Woo!

happy tuesday!

Nothing says houseparty like Jell-O shots.

Oh. Em. Gee. What a freakin weekend kids. I mean really. It was slightly ridiculous. And I'm still recovering....oy vey.

So here we go:

Friday: After a week of allergy induced days and nights Matt and I decided to take it easy. So after work we relaxed at home, caught up on the DVR and enjoyed some good ole Chili's to go, delish. Not even kidding, it was one of the best nights in a long time of sheer relaxation and awesomeness, haha.

Saturday: Woke up "early" to run errands all around town. Who knew you had to do so much to get ready for a party? Between the two of us, Matt and I went to Target, Circuit City, Ralph's, Old Navy, Target again, Matt's mom's house, my parent's house,Smart and Final and Circuit City yet again, haha. After the errand running came the apartment cleaning and playlist creating and food cooking and showering and whew. It was a lot to do but totally worth it. We had a pretty great turnout of people and all around a grand ole time...pictures you say? Pshaw. Of course I took pictures :)

yes we're back in college, woo Jell-O shots

what lovely ladies

Megan and JR, so cute

Matt, me and Brian, presh

Roomies! :)

haha, we crack ourselves up

Me and Matt with my cousin and her fiancee, woo

Reppin the yellow, haha

The guys hangin outside

I have no idea what Kat and I are doing, haha

All in all it was one great party. My friends all brought gifts (which they totally didn't have to) ranging anywhere from gift certificates to red wine and freezer shot glasses, haha. I finally met my neighbor after I kidnapped her and bribed her with Jell-O shots and a common love of Top Model, haha, so that was sweet. I loved it all. And it was quite the night of great friends, too many drinks, lots of Jell-O shots and impromptu dancing, twas amazing.

Sunday: Sunday...oh Sunday...oh day after a party....oh my liver...my stomach...my head. I swear I'm never drinking again (at least not until this weekend, haha). Er maybe just never doing Jell-O shots again. Who knows? But whatever it was had me curled in a ball trying to sleep away the pain all day long, it was not a pretty sight. Eventually I mustered the energy to go walking with the fam and only made it three miles before I had to call it quits and sleep in the car for the last three miles, haha. Seriously, I'm so not 21 anymore. My body can't handle too much partying, it's so sad. After walking I went to my parents house for dinner which was nice and tasty. Eventually I started to feel better and Matt and I went home, did some cleaning and more relaxing and some TV watching (anyone watch Desperate Housewives? Sooo good I thought. Woo Mike! ), twas lovely. Afterwards we headed to bed where I was ready to pass out for a good night's sleep, but sadly my nose had other plans. I was up every couple hours sneezing or sniffling or cursing at my inability to stay asleep, it was awful. Seriously I need a new liver, new stomach and new nose, pronto!

So yeah that was my weekend, and hopefully this week will fly by allergy free because I'm headed to Ohio on Thursday! Wee!

And how was your weekend?

happy monday!

I'm Happy and I know it.

Oh man, ever have one of those days, or weeks even where work just gets you down? I'm trying my best not to be stressed with all of my new stuff and slowly bu surely I'm getting to it all and hopefully kickin butt in the process. But with all the stress and work I've had lately, there has been more than enough good stuff to go around such as:
  • The more than obvious Ryan run in that still makes me happy (especially since there have been two more sightings since, woot).

  • The same Ryan run in post has brought in tons of new readers a la Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling forum boards, holla. (hi new peeps!)

  • My Dodgers won the NL West! After a season of ups and downs, multiple letters to the team and numerous close calls with the Diamondbacks we actually clinched the win! Woo hoo! Go Blue!

and my other team....the Trojans.....yeaaaaah we're not talking about that. (although if you ask Matt he'll tell you all about it)

  • The Grey's Anatomy season premiere is waiting for me on my DVR to watch this weekend and I cannot wait. So no one tell me what happened okay? Sweet thanks.

  • Matt and I are slowly but surely getting into a groove with our apartment. It doesn't help that we're both so busy and our schedules are constantly changing but we're doing our best and that's just fine for me, woo.

  • Jen and Violet are just the cutest mommy/daughter duo and it's been too long since we've seen their adorableness and it just makes me smile:

    precious!

  • Lovely Bones. As creepy and sad and disturbing as this book is, I absolutely love it. I'm pretty sure Matt is even getting tired of me saying it because every time I put it down I say "I just want to finish and know what happens, I love this book!" Luckily I only have 20 pages left and I can't wait to see what happens at the end, I've been so enveloped in this story it's crazy. Well done Alice, well done. Oh and random side note: Ryan Gosling was originally slated to play the dad in the new movie adaptation of the book, however because he looked to young Mark Wahlberg replaced him. Crazy huh? Ryan is everywhere! :)

  • In one week I'll be gallivanting around Ohio with some of my favorite friends and I cannot wait! Wahoo!

  • Matt and I are having a little housewarming shindig this weekend and I can't wait. I don't even know who all is showing up but who doesn't like to have friends over and drink and be crazy. And hey maybe even my neighbors will come over to partay too? But woo for housewarmings!

  • It's Friday! What better reason to be happy could I have than that?!?

And what's making you happy today?

happy weekend!

Katelin meet Ryan. Ryan meet Katelin.

Okay so first of all, just wanted to say I hope I didn't come off as putting those awards in everyone's faces yesterday. I wasn't trying to do that at all, just wanted to pass on the goodness all at once because there are truly some awesome blogs out there. So yeah, not trying to be snooty, just sharing.

However in more important, exciting and overall awesome news....I finally met Ryan Gosling!!!!

Auburn Kat must be psychic since she posted yesterday that she hoped that it would be the day I met him and squeeeee she was right!

So how did it finally happen you ask? Well let me tell you....

I was sitting at my desk, working away (per usual) with my headphones on and my coworker goes "Kate! Kate! He just walked by!" I, as expected, darted from my desk to the door to double check this and oh! He was right, I saw Ryan walking away with dog and a friend in tow. So I dash back to my desk, grab my purse and head down the street behind Ryan with plans to go to the coffee house down the street. I really had no idea what I was going to do or say, but I just wanted to meet him. My other coworker came out the door behind me and we walked (a little faster than normal, haha) down the street when to my surprise Ryan stopped because his cute lil mohawked dog, George, had to do his business*, haha.

So basically my coworker and I walked up to where he was as he was trying to calm his dog, haha. I sort of walked by but then stopped to pet the dog (even though I'm highly allergic to most furry creatures, haha) and started making small talk. Eventually my coworker and I introduced ourselves...well she said her name and I don't know what I said the first time because he had to ask and then I was like "Oh right, I'm Katelin." I couldn't help it, I was flustered, I was talking to Noah! After I told him I was a big fan and that his dog was cute and I was surprised I wasn't sneezing, I finally mustered up the courage to ask for a picture with him. And he was more than nice about it and suggested we move away from where his dog had pooped and then peed, haha. So we moved to the sidewalk some more and my coworker took a picture, holla. Afterwards we both told him it was nice to meet him, he said the same, and then we kept on walking to the coffee house. Well I sort of skipped, but not too much, haha. So yes Ryan is just as cute in person as you would expect, he is incredibly nice, has a super cute and very active dog, and is so down to earth it just makes him awesome. He definitely gets super cool celeb points for all of that.

Oh and here is the oh so awesome picture that I can't wait to add to my celebrity collection, haha, woo Ryan:

Don't mind the goofy smile, I couldn't help it. :)
le swooooon.

Oh and to add to the goodness, after my lunch I walked to the front of my office to walk back in and who was getting into his car with his friends? Yes. Ryan. Again. Two sightings in one day. Hark. Thank you celebrity gods, thank you.

*And yes for all you pet owners out there, Ryan did pick up the dog poop, just did it after we walked away, haha, such a good pet owner.

happy thursday!
