A SUPER giveaway!

So first of all, the Garner-Afflecks finally released the name of their new little bebe girl and who am I to NOT tell you that one. Violet's new little sister's name is

.....Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck. ta da!

I, although probably biased, think it's a cute name. Now I don't know that I'd name my future kid Seraphina, but still it's cute and congrats to the happy fam! :)

Anyhoo moving on to something totally unrelated to celebrity bebes and their cuteness... the Super Bowl! (see, I know you were wondering what the hell was up with that title and now it has meaning, haha).

Haha, yeah that was an awful transition but really I'm going to talk about the Super Bowl. Now I really don't care too much about pro-football, I'm more of a college ball girl myself, but Matt was into it BIG TIME this year because he was in a fantasy football league. So I actually got to know some of the pro players and teams and what not and sort of started to like it, sort of.

Nonetheless, even if I didn't like pro football I'd still watch the Super Bowl. I mean how could I pass up watching amazing commercials, nip slips, drunk fans and hanging out with my guy friends as they scream and cheer at the game. Basically, Superbowl Sunday is awesome.

And you know what? It's going to be a little bit more awesome for someone this year. Because I'm giving something awesome, courtesy of the lovely Tara, the Ultimate Super Bowl Party Pack!

And what is in this party pack you ask? Well, let me tell ya:

  • 1 Football
  • 1 Beverage Pail
  • 1 Snack Helmet (how awesome is that?!)
  • 2 Key Chains
  • 2 Hats
  • 2 T-Shirts
  • 5 Pepsi 24 pack coupons
  • 5 Frito Lay coupons
I mean really, how sweet is that? You'll have everything you'll need for a grand ole Super Bowl party! (minus the alcohol of course, haha). And what do you have to do to win such a rockin prize? Simply leave a comment telling me who your football team is (college or pro) and why? And to get an extra entry tweet about the contest or post about it on your blog and post it in the comments. Woot!

I'll pick a winner at random next Wednesday, January 21st, so get going and good luck!

A Golden day in Hollywood.

Why hello there dear freaders, glad you could make it to today's Hollywood post. It's going to be a little off the norm since the Golden Globes were on Sunday and I'm a sucker for awards shows so sit back, enjoy the pictures and don't laugh at me too much:
  • First of all, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Kate! Seriously when Kate Winslet's name was announced as the first winner of the night I let out a squeal I was so happy. The woman's been nominated seven times, she deserved a freakin win! But ohmygoodness when she won the second award for Revolionary Road I about lost it. Yes I am a huge nerd I'll admit this, but when she was giving her speech I definitely teared up I was so happy for her. And when she thanked Leo! Ah! My heart couldn't handle it, I was thirteen all over again. Yeah and I'm pretty sure they've taken over the top spot of my favorite duos, my goodness, heart them. Seriously, congrats Kate! You are awesome.

  • Okay and just because I love them so much, here's a pic of my fave duo on the red carpet. Oh and while we're on the subject of Leo and his non-win, I hope the Wrestler really is good, because it doesn't look appealing to me at. all. But it's okay Leo you already have a Golden Globe, just aim for the Oscars okay?

  • And done gushing about Kate and Leo. Next up, Heath Ledger. It's crazy for me still, almost a year later, that Heath isn't around. Even after watching the Dark Knight again on Sunday (and being totally creeped out, in a good way), it still didn't hit me that if he won on Sunday, he wouldn't be there to accept his award. So when he did win, and Christopher Nolan went up to accept it, I couldn't help but tear up again. His speech was a perfect tribute to Heath and I'm glad to hear that his award will be going to Matilda, as it should.

  • In other good Golden Globes news, Slumdog Millionaire swept for every award it was nominated for. Seriously, this movie is the sleeper hit of the year and I love it. It's such a good movie with a great story behind it and it just made me so happy to see everyone involved with the movie sincerely overjoyed whenever it won an award. So if you haven't seen it yet, I say you do, like now! What are you waiting for?

  • One of the funniest moments of the night was when 30 Rock won for best comedy and Tracy Morgan was the one to accept the award. Oh man, I couldn't stop laughing. So far I can only find a short clip of it, but if you want a good laugh search for the whole thing, "Take that Cate Blanchett!", haha. Oh and Tina's acceptance speech for winning best actress was pretty classic as well, "Take that haters!"

  • Ooh, ooh! The other win of the night I was pretty excited for was Colin Farrell for In Bruges. I'm pretty sure I was one of the few people to see that movie and I really enjoyed it. So congrats to Colin for being such a surprise win!

  • As for the outfits of the night, I think all of the dresses sort of looked the same. Lots and lots of layering and fabric and big pieces of fabric sticking out on them. With that said however, I did have a couple faves:
    Isla Fisher

don't know why, but I really liked this one
a different color may have worked better
    but I'm still a fan

    Eva Longoria Parker

    seriously, she worked it

    Jane Krakowski

    seriously love this one, except
    where is the other strap?
Maybe ScarJo or Vanessa took it finally, haha

    Laura Linney

    absolutely love this one
heck I would rock it, maybe a little less bling
    but I'd rock it

    Mary Louis Parker

she'll always be Ruth to me
and I just love this dress, the shape, the color
    amazing.

  • Oh man and how did I only include Leo in the dashing men category? Okay one for the road since this post is getting ridiuculous. And the hottie winner is....

    Simon Baker

    Seriously, the man is hot
Oh and in case you missed it, the full list of the Golden Globe nominees and winners can be found here, enjoy.

Anyhoo, what was your fave part of the show? Anything I missed?

And expect another Hollywood post this week, I mean, I have to give the Affleck's time to share the new baby's name, haha.

happy tuesday!

A weekend for some Hot Shots.

Oh another weekend come and gone, my goodness why is it already over??? I'm sorry to say as lovely as this past weekend was, it was pictureless. One of the few weekends where I didn't get any pictures, so I'm going to try and keep this post shortish so I don't totally bore you. Anyhoo, here we go:

Friday: After work I came home to help Matt cook us some yummy dinner. After dinner we popped open a bottle of wine, played some Wii (seriously, I'm/we're obsessed, haha) and then settled down the night with a classic comedy, Hot Shots. Twas just the casual yet awesome night in we needed.

Saturday: Wedding day. No not my wedding, my cousin's wedding day. I'm her MOH for her October wedding so we spent the day checking out the wedding location, gettig her sister's bridesmaid dress, searching for shoes and just talking weddingness. It was tiring, but all in all pretty fun. After the day of weddingness we went back to her place, relaxed and napped for a bit before all of our aunts came over for a Girls Night In. It was fun hanging out with all the ladies of the family all night, eating good food, drinking lots of wine, and chatting all around. After the ladies night I came home to have more wine with Matt and watched Hot Shots Part Deux. Seriously those movies are hilarious, definitely the best way to cap off the night.

Sunday: Spent the day lazily by cleaning up some Christmas stuff, organizing bills, and watching the Dark Knight. Seriously I hadn't seen that movie since I saw it back in July and oh man I almost forgot how awesome it is, almost. After that I headed over to the Rose Bowl for a six mile walk with my fam and Matt who joined us on rollerblades. Seriously, that walking business is tiring, whew. After walking a good long shower we headed to my parents place for dinner and made it home in time for me to curl up with the Golden Globes! Seriously, it's my second favorite awards show so expect big things for tomorrow's Hollywood post. But I will say I definitely let out some tears of happiness for Kate Winslet when she won, Matt may or may not have laughed at me as I may or may not had to wipe multiple tears after I shouted "yaaaaaaaaaay KAAAAAAAAAAATE!!!!". Yes I love Hollywood.

Anyhoo, that my friends is my low key yet lovely weekend. And how was yours?

Let's dance for Friday!

So as of lately (who am I kidding, as of always) I've been on a music kick. Not just any music though, the kind of music that can't help but tap your feet or just get out of your desk and dance music. Yeah it's been fun times over here. So anyhoo, I figured because it's Friday and Friday's always warrant a good time that'd I'd share some toe tapping, good times jams:

Shut up and Let me Go - Tings Tings

That 70's Song - The Cab

The Way You Move
- Outkast

You - Atmosphere

Just Dance - Lady Gaga

Oh yes, I have an amazing taste in music, I know, haha. And what do you put on to dance through your day?

Anyhoo, hope you all have a most wonderous weekend!

Things to make me squeeeeee.

Seriously I just want to squee. Clearly I'm easily entertained so here's what's making me squee today, weeeee:
  • Jennifer Garner had her baby on Tuesday! And Violet, my fave of Hollywood bebes, is now a big sister to a new little sister. Aw. Precious. And now Isabella and Gia Damon can all come over for one big girly play date. I love it. Congrats to the happy fam! :)

  • Twilight! Ah yes of course it always makes me squeeee. But the most squee worthy news as of late is that Taylor Lautner will officially be reprising his role as Jacob Black in New Moon. Seriously I think he's a perfect fit and hopefully the magic of special effects will make him age perfectly, woo. Good luck Taylor!

  • In other Twilight squee worthy news, Summit released the artwork for the forthcoming Twilight DVD release. I am both excited and perplexed, why the heck is Summit releasing everything so freakin fast. I mean really, give Twilight a breather, I'll still be a super fan when it comes back. Anyhoo, it's a basic cover but I really don't get why the nomads are on it, why not the Cullens? Oh well.

oooooh update the DVD comes out March 21st!! woo!

  • Seeing pictures of Joshua Jackson lookin all cute and stuff when Fringe is still on hiatus. Le swoon.

  • Activa Vanilla yougurt has been making me squee because ohmygod have you had it before? It's heaven in yogurt form. Seriously, it's phenomenal, so go out and get yourself some stat!

  • Leo oh mama mia Leo. Seriously he just looks so handsome in a suit and aw swoon, Jack Dawson is that you? Oh wait, you're in a new movie that I was so excited to see a year and a half ago and still haven't seen yet, what is wrong with me!? I swear I'll see it soon, otherwise keep lookin so dapper, mmmmm.

  • A new episode of Grey's is on tonight! Ah! I don't even know what it's about but I'm excited. I love that show and good Thursday TV is always a plus right?

  • Oh oh and it's Thursday which makes tomorrow Friday which means it's the weekend which means woo which means today is definitely squee worthy.

And yeah today was basically another Hollywood post but it's my blog and I do what I want. So anything ridiculous making your squee today? Or is it just me? haha.

happy thursday!

I am a reading machine!

No really, I am. I read 23 books last year which I'm pretty sure is 22 more books than I readin 2007, so hot damn I'm proud of myself. And what are the books that occupied my time you ask? Why of course I want to share and tell you which ones I think you should read and why:

Wicked by Gregory Maguire. As I mentioned last week, Wicked, the musical, was one of my big obsessions in '08, so it came as no surprise that I would want to read the book. However I am still torn about it. It's so drastically different from the musical and dark that I may have to give it another shot in a year or so, but ultimately I liked it.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseni. LOVE IT. Kite Runner is one of my favorite books so I had to check this one out and I was in no way dissapointed. It was amazing. At times hard to read simply because of how intense the story is, but overall amazing, amazing I say.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Another tough subject read but ohmygoodness amazing. My best friend lent me her copy and insisted I read this book and I'm glad she did. I love how Jodi writes from every characters perspective and has lots of flashbacks to outline such a great story.

Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich. A quick, funny read as part of the Stephanie Plum novels. A good upper in between such serious books.

19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult. Another tough subject written amazingly. I think I actually liked this one better that My Sister's Keeper. A school shooting is never an easy subject to write about but Jodi captures it all brilliantly. Definitely another serious read, but so worth it to get through.

One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. The first in the Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter, chick lit novels that my mom recommended to me and definitely a quick, funny and easy read in between books.

The Nanny Diaries by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. I really felt like I was the last female alive to read this book, haha. But I loved it. I had already seen the movie so I sort of knew what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised at how funny it was.

The Devil Wears Prada by Laura Weisberger. Now I had also already seen this movie before reading it so I sort of had an idea about it but I liked it a lot as well. I don't really know much about the fashion world nay from what I see on shows like Top Model and Stylista so it was definitely an eye opener for me, haha.

Two for the Dough and Three to get Deadly by Janet Evanovich. Two more highly entertaining and good quick reads to pass the time.

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. Another book I had been meaning to read forever, especially since I love the movie so much. But I must say, I wasn't too impressed. I guess the movie version had been ingrained in me too much because I didn't like the flow of the book that much. However, with that said, it is still a great love story and picturing Ryan Gosling as I read was definitely a plus.

The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. Who knew there was a follow up book to the Notebook? I sure didn't. But to be honest, I liked it a little bit more. It follows Noah and Ally's daughter and her family and Noah is very present in the story as well. I think this story flowed better and was a little bit more realistic. I say if you've read the Notebook, check it out.

A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. Despite Oprah's outrage and distaste for the man I really liked the book. I thought it was an incredible story that definitely makes you look at yourself and what addiction really means. Definitely a good one.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Amazing. Another tough subject read but I couldn't put the book down it was so good.

The Secret Life Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. Another good one. I read the book shortly before I saw the movie and was a fan of both. And I thought the story definitely displayed innocence as well as the harshness of American society.

Four to Score and High Five by Janet Evanovich. Two more incredibly funny stories of Stephanie Plumm and her Jersey girl bounty hunting stories where ultimately a car gets blown up and a hot man is involved, haha.

Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. Haha. I laugh because I'm afraid every comment will be "We know how much you loved the Twilight series Katelin, get over it already!". But um yeah, clearly my fave four books of the bunch for the year and with my sweet hard back copies I may just have to reread them in '09.

The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold. I went from stories of love and vampires to a story about a woman who kills her mother and the events that follow. Yeah definitely a bizarre switch and I still don't know how I feel about this one.

Q&A by Vikas Swarup. AMAZING. I think this book would be right after Twilight for my favorite of the year. By recommendation of Lauren I picked up this book and could barely put it down. Basically it's the base story for Slumdog Millionaire and it's amazing. So good, so so good. Go out and read it now!

And that my friends is what I read in '08. So what's next for '09 since I have set my goal for 25 books ? Well right now I am reading Alice Sebold's memoir Lucky and next up is James Frey's My Friend Leonard, and then Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. So anything else you think I should add to the ever growing book list?

And what are you reading these days?

A new year, same crazy Hollywood.

My goodness it's Tuesday already, and you know what that means....Hollywoooooood day! So why delay, here we go:
  • This week's cute bebes come from Marcia Cross's adorable twins, Eden and Savannah. Seriously they are always so adorable and happy and running around, I love it:

    so cute!

  • And yeah I really can't help it, I think Violet Affleck is just so dang cute and always so smiley it makes me smile and I can't wait for the Garner-Affleck family to add their fourth member. So yeah, this week's other cute bebe is my fave of faves, little Vi:

so smiley and happy, gotta love her

  • Oh and speaking of the bebes Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell welcomed their twin girls on the 28th. Oh and did they welcome them alright, by giving them names that Bronx Mowgli Wentz may even be happy about... Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip. Oh goodness.

  • However, in sad celebrity kid news, in case you didn't happen to hear, John Travolta and Kelly Preston's sixteen year old son died on January 2nd due to his seizure disorder. So, so sad.

  • In other non-kid and funny news, turns out a major hacker was loose in the Twittersphere yesterday. Brittany Spears account as well as Fox News were victims to some ridiculous and pretty funny tweets. Now I'm not going to post them here because they're a bit much for my blog but check here and here to get a good laugh.

  • In Twilightness, Rob Pattinson is still hot:

    le swoon!

  • In TV news....
The City. Oh good gracious. Why did I start watching this mess? I heart Whitney, that's why. This show is all sorts of dramas and guy tiffs and snobby girls, my goodness it's ridiculous. And is it just me or does Whit's guy sort of act/behave/look like Justin Bobby? Maybe not as much of a dbag, but sort of annoying. And Olivia, good granny that woman and the Manolo shoe event, such a snob. I can't really stand her. I hope this season doesn't overload my drama intake because I can really only handle so much. But Whit, I heart you, so make it good. Sweet, thanks.

Daddy's Girls. So yeah I sort of got suckered into watching this because it was after the City, and because I sort of secretly love Run's House. The girls crack me up, I was laughing so hard when they saw the sign for mountain lions and Angela was on the phone with Run, haha. Oh goodness I don't need another show to watch.

SNL. The new year of episodes is coming this weekend and who is hosting??? None other than my fave Neil Patrick Harris! Ah. Love. My DVR is already set as should yours :)

  • And in some movie recap news...
Slumdog Millionaire. I saw it last Tuesday and after reading the book I was a little skeptical, but I did end up loving it. Although a lot of it is different than the book, the overall story of overcoming oppression and perseverance. The movie is just so heartwarming and awe inspiring and I definitely recommend checking it out.

Bedtime Stories. Cute movie. So cute actually. I really enjoyed it and my little brother was laughing through the whole thing. Seriously, if you want some good kiddy entertainment I say you go watch this one.

  • And today's WTF news is actually sort of a happy one, sort of. A Connecticut man who bought Lotto tickets every week, died shortly after buying his week's tickets. However, when his wife later went to redeem them turns out one of the tickets was worth 10 million dollars!!! Talk about a good gift to leave your family with, haha.

And that everyone is the week's news in Hollywood, wonder what will happen next???

happy tuesday!

Starting off '09 with a Wii.

Annnnnd I'm back. I really was in no form to write a post for Friday so I figured I'd just leave you with my New Year's resolutions for a while. Anyhoo the week/weekend was glorious, glorious I say people. I was such a bum and it was amazing. So without further ado I present you my past couple of days and my start to the New Year, surprisingly without many pictures so I'll keep it short since pictures are always the most fun part....

Wednesday: Well since I didn't have to work I slept in to some ungodly hour then woke up and played the Wii for a while, seriously I love that thing. Other than that I couldn't really tell you what I did the rest of the day, haha. Once Matt got home we had some dinner and finally made some plans for the night. We ended up going up to Matt's brother's girlfriend's parent's house for New Year's festivities. It ended up being pretty fun hanging out, drinking lots of champagne and meeting some new people.
me and my New Year's date :)

me and Michaela, heart her

All in all it was a lovely night ringing in the new year with Matt and friends.

Thursday: In a nutshell. Woke up early, drove home, almost weren't allowed on our street (damn Rose Parade), passed out til 11, went to my parent's house for football (fight on!) and good food, went to Matt's dad's house for more football, back home for relaxation aka the Wii, friends came over for dinner, same friends brought over Guitar Hero World Tour, partied like rock stars all night long.

everyone rockin out

Matt and Steve showing off their rocker skills

All in all it was a great night with lots of rocking (and not rocking on my part, seriously I suck at the guitar, haha) and fun times.

Friday: Another day of awesome laziness. Seriously it was just me and my Wii, with a couple of errands tossed in the mix. Not even kidding I am mastering bowling and tennis and still sucking at Mario Kart, haha. Matt and I basically spent our night hanging out, drinking wine, and playing Mario Party on the Wii, such a lax night and definitely awesome.

Saturday: Went and saw Bedtime Stories with the fam, which I actually really liked it's super cute then met up with Matt and some friends at Yard House. I had their new grilled cheese with four cheeses and tomato bisque, so tasty I highly recommend it. Afterwards a couple of us came back to our apartment for more wine and some Wii. Really, I don't know if I'll ever go out again, haha. But no, it was awesome, I had an intense tennis match with my friend Blake it was hilarious and can't wait to play him again.

Sunday: Started the day off early with brunch for Matt's dad's birthday then did a four mile walk with my mom before heading off to my cousin's birthday party and ultimately coming home to hang out, play the Wii and soak up the last seconds of vacation time. Twas loverly.

All in all it was my kind of vacation weekend, loved it all. And I still can't believe we're in 2009 already!!

Anyhoo how was your weekend? 2009 looking good I hope?

happy monday!

Why hello there 2009.

First of all...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Man I can't believe it's already 2009, seriously where is the time going? I really do not know. Anyhoo I figured with the new year ahead I'd do something I don't usually do...sing!

Haha, I kid, I kid. I won't torment you with my voice, however I will tell you my New Year's resolutions. I don't ever do them because I rarely stick to them, however I figure why not this year? It can' hurt anyone.

So here we go.
1. Try not to worry as much. I know you can't really tell from my blog, but in real life I'm sort of a worrier. About everything. So my goal is to chill out, relax and it'll all work out.

2. Meet more bloggers! I mean really, there are so many LA bloggers I have yet to meet and it's about time. And heck I'd like to re-meet/hang out some more with other local bloggers. Hell even the non local bloggers (hello BlogHer '09?).

3. Read 25 books. I figure if I can read 23 between March and December of this year I can definitely pull off 25 for all of next year.

4. Become a baking master. Okay that may be a stretch but I really want to up my baking skills and wow the crowds. Only practice will help me.

5. Take at least tw0 vacations with Matt that aren't attatched to a wedding. With four weddings and lots of group activites lined up for next year already I want to have some fun just for us.

And that my friends are my resolutions. Are you writing any this year?

Anyhoo I hope you all have an amazing New Years!!!

happy thursday!

Obsessed with '08.

While I know not many people are checking blogs today and what not but I figured I'd throw in my two cents to end the year with. While I could reflect on something that happened each month this past year or give my top movie reviews of '08 or TV shows I think you should all be watching. But alas I have decided simply to share my top obsessions of '08.

Yes I said it, top obsessions. Probably not too hard to figure out but hey I might as well give credit to the obsessions that made my year a little bit more exciting, haha.

First up, we have Wicked. Yes I was obsessed with it last year, but this year I took my obsession to new lengths and flew across the country in the middle of the week to see it a second time with my best friend. I even saw it a third time this year when Matt surprised me with tickets. Now if that isn't dedication I don't know what is, haha.

My next big obsession of the year was meeting celebrities! Seriously I had two of the greatest and most amazing run ins of my life this year: Jordan Knight and Ryan Gosling. Le swoon oh le swoon. I can only hope that I'll have even more amazing and wonderful run ins in '09.

Next up, we have reading. I want to give myself a pat on the back for reading 23 books since March. My initial goal was 10, and I made it to 23, hark! I don't remember the last time I read that many books and enjoyed so many of them in the process. Seriously, reading is awesome.

While on the subject of reading the next obsession of '08 is Twilight. I mean I know this one's obvious since Twilight pretty much took over the blog for the last three months but really, can you blame me? The book just made me feel like a tween again and the movie just made me swoon over Rob Pattinson.

Speaking of Rob Pattinson, ummmmyeah he's officially numero uno on the '08 obsessions list. The guy came out of nowhere and he sings and acts and has that brooding look down and my goodness his hair! Ahhhhmazing. I hope to see more of him for sure next year and hey maybe I'll even get to meet him....one can only hope :)

And that my friends is what I was obsessing over most in '08. Can't wait to see what new things '09 will present me with :)

And hope you all have a most fabulous and wonderously amazing New Year's Eve!

happy wednesday!

The Wii wins over Hollywood.

First of all, thank you for all the good Wii vibes because yesterday Matt walked through the door with a Wii in hand, hark! So this post won't be all too long because obviously I'm too wrapped up in bowling, playing tennis and pretending to box. So here is the shortened Hollywood post, woo:
  • Today's cute bebes come from Melissa Joan Hart's fam, seriously her family is just so adorable and happy and precious and ah! Love:

  • In other cute bebe news little Olive Cohen is just so dang adorable these days and looking more and more like her mom, I love it. Seriously how happy does she look in this picture?

    precious!

  • Speaking of bebes Chyler Leigh, aka Lexie on Grey's Anatomy, is pregnant with her third bebe! Third, she's only 26, crazy pants. Luckily they won't be writing her pregnancy into the show because man that could be intense, but congrats to her and her family.

  • In favorites news it's rumored that Drew Barrymore and Jason Segel have been hanging out lately and possibly canoodling, among other things. Seriously I heart Jason Segel so don't break his heart Drew, you hear me?

  • In today's movie news, Marley and Me came in numero uno at the box office this weekend. I've heard goo things about it but don't know if I'll actually be able to see it since there are so many movies out I want to see, speaking of which I'm seeing Slumdog Millionaire tonight and cannot wait. I read the book that it was based on and it was amazing, seriously so excited.

  • In other movie news, Pink is the New Blog posted new promo pics for Transformers 2 and they look pretty cool. I must say even though the first movie was ridiculous in plot it made up for it in special effects.

  • Speaking of movie news and skipping ahead to the WTF news, a man in Philly was annoyed by a father and son talking during a screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and pulled out a gun and shot the father. Not only that, but after he shot the guy he sat down and finished watching the movie....umWTF?! What a freakin psycho. Crazy pants.

  • And lastly in TV news, did anyone watch The City last night? I currently have it siting on my DVR waiting to watch and I want to know what to expect. Is it as ridiculous as the Hills or better? Granted I doubt it matters and I'll watch it anyways, haha.

Anyhoo that's all I got today kids. Feel free to comment anything I missed.

happy tuesday!

Santa thought I was on the good list.

I love Christmas. Have I said that before, I forget? haha. Clearly I was in the Christmas mood for a long time and I can't believe it's come and gone already. Anyhoo I didn't post on Friday because man I was just too tired, but Christmas and the weekend were amazing and I loved it all. So here's the recap in short (at least I'll try) and with plenty of pictures...woo!:

Thursday: Christmas! Matt and I woke up early to share our presents with each other and do our own Christmas. It was so fun. Our tree started out looking like this which I loved:

After we did our Christmas I headed over to my parent's house, where Matt came over later and did some gifts with my family. Eventually we headed to his dad's house afterward and then to his brother's girlfriend's parent's house, and back to my parent's house and eventually I ended my night at my cousin's house for the big family shindig.

Matt and my fam on Christmas, so cute

Aw the cousins

love this picture,
apparently something was hilarious

my sister embracing the Mary spirit, haha

Basically it was a day spent all over the place but I loved it (even if the weather was less than agreeable). And Santa even gave me some of stuff off of my list which is always nice too:

Santa got me a picture of a Wii with money to Best Buy behind it
and Matt got me the Twilight box set
and the super cute necklace from Etsy I asked for
woo!

Twas an oh so lovely Christmas.

Friday: I most definitely did not turn my alarm on and enjoyed the perks of sleeping in. Afterward I ran some errands around town, searched for a Wii to no avail, and eventually came home to a marathon of Say Yes to the Dress. Matt came home from work to me curled up on the couch enjoying a nice long nap too, so that basically sums up my whole day, haha. Eventually some friends came over and we headed out to the bar. It was a fun night seeing some old high school classmates and all around just having a good time.

Mat and the guys at the bar

All in all twas another lovely night out.

Saturday: Woke early to do some more Wii searching, Matt actually left to hit a couple stores in what I called the great Wii Quest. I stayed home and cleaned up a bit before my friend Alli from college stopped on by. Alli and I hung out a bit and my apartment until Matt showed up with a nice new Christmas present to himself/us, haha:

I must say, I'm a fan. All we have to do now is upgrade our cable to HD and we'll be set. Anyhoo we finally headed off to lunch which was great catching up and hanging out, it'd be a year since I'd seen her which in my opinion is way too long.

After Alli left Matt and I hit up a couple more stores searching for a Wii to no avail sadly. We made it home just in time for me to nap away some sickness and get ready to leave for my sister's birthday at Pirates Dinner Adventure.

So yes about 20 of my family and my sister's friends headed to Buena Park for a night of pirateness at Pirates Dinner Adventure. We went there last year for Matt's birthday and it was so much fun. Basically a lot of arrgggghing and aye ayeing and awesomeness. Matt, my dad and uncle all volunteered for some preshow fun, my sister's birthday got announced and one of my little brothers got called up during the show. So cute.

the guys all pirated out

Despite not really being able to breathe it was a great night, loved it.

Sunday: Still plagued by sickness I slept in a bit, which was nice. Matt headed off to watch football at his dad's house and some of my HS girl friends came over which was so fun. I don't think all of us had been together for a long long time, so it was great to see everyone. We went to Panera which made the day even better since it's so freaking tasty. After lunch the girls came back here to hang out and chat for a bit which was so fun and nice. After they all headed off I took a nice long nap and basically spent the rest of my night relaxing with Matt, drinking tea and trying to get better. Hopefully I'm 100% by New Year's because bringing in the New Year sick would just not be cool.

Anyhoo I've rambled long enough, and how was your Christmas and weekend?
Hope it was absolutely fabulous!

Merry Christmas!

Today is set to be one busy, busy day and I can hardly wait. I love Christmas so much, it makes me feel like a kid again, especially since my mom still puts out Santa labels for our gifts, I mean how can that not make you smile. Anyhoo I hope you all have a most fabulous, amazing, wonderous Christmas!

And that you have smiles as big as mine:

Oh it's Christmas Eve.

There are several things true about today. And I thought I'd share...
  • Today is Christmas Eve! Wee!

  • I have done zero wrapping at this point ant that is what the rest of my day will look like.

  • I officially slept in until 10:30 and could have easily gone back to sleep, oh man I love sleep.

  • Last night I got to hang out with some high school friends at the same sketchy bar we went to for my sister's birthday and it was awesome.

  • It's currently raining and I am not a fan.

  • Love Actually is sitting in my DVD player ready for me to turn on once I start my wrapping bonanza.

  • I plan on staying in my pajamas for most of the day and good gracious it feels good.

  • Tonight I'm having dinner with my fam, my grandma, some aunts and my great aunt and I can't really wait for it!

  • Well let's be honest I can't believe that TOMORROW is CHRISTMAS! Ah! I'm so excited.

  • Probably so excited that I won't be able to sleep through the night, because I never really can on Christmas Eve, haha, I always feel like this kid.
And that's about all of the post I can come up with for today, haha. I hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas Eve and have an even more fabulous Christmas tomorrow!

Anything true for you today?

It's Hollywooooood day.

It's Christmas week here at gorgeous footsteps in the sand... but that doesn't mean there isn't any fabulous Hollywood news to share. And here we goooooo:
  • This week's cute bebe comes from little Kingston Rossdale in all of his Christmassy wonderousness. Seriously his apron is so freakin adorable and he is just so dang precious:

    so cute!

  • And today's other cute celeb baby comes from the oh so adorable Suri Cruise checkin out some books before Christmas and rockin one adorable headband:

    cuuuuuute.

  • Alert the media! Stop the press! Rob Pattinson chopped off his lovely locks of gorgeousness and showed a hot new do. I sort of love it. He's just so good looking, ow ow.

    yummmmm.

  • In music news I feel like I'm behind the times on this one but over the weekend I heard a rock remix version of Ginuwine's "Pony" and I freaking love it. Apparently it's by Hot Little Pony and I recommend checkin it out.

  • In TV news check out the Home for the Holidays special that's airing on CBS tonight at 8, which raises adoption awareness. Hosted by Faith Hill with appearances by some of my faves, including Galinda...er Kristen Chenoweth, Home for the Holidays is all about brining Christmas cheer to kids in need of homes. I love it.

  • In cool blogger/TV news, Johanna won Stylista! Now for anyone that used to read her blog knows that she was all about fashion and that she was pretty much awesome. And after watching the show I liked her so much more because she was the only person on it without major drama and back stabbing tendencies and truly loved fashion. So anyhoo, congrats to Johanna and hopefully she'll come back to the blogging world now that she's hit the big time at Elle.

  • Although most TV shows are on hiatus, we still have the Hills to keep us going...
    The Hills
. Oh. My. God. Justin Bobby is the biggest dbag ever. Seriously I can't really decide who I detest more, him or Spencer, eck. However Chris did make the great point that having those dbags on the show, normal guys (like Matt for example) come off a million times better. And Heidi has absolutely no brains whatsoever. And her reconciliation with Lauren was the most ridiculous piece of trash TV I've ever seen. Why do I even watch this show?? Why!? Why? Ooooh but the twist of it all, Heidi and Spencer really didn't get married?!?! Especially since the told every news source that would listen that they actually tied the knot. Ah! Why do I care?!?!
Oh well we all know I'll still watch next season and I'm getting my DVR ready for The City starting next Monday....oy.

  • Oh I guess what could be my WTF news of the day but also some TV news but also in the "OMG tie this woman's tubes" news, Michelle Duggar gave birth to her eighteenth child! Yeah you read that right, eighteen! Seriously these people don't know when to stop because apparently they're already talking about number nineteen, ack!

  • Anyhoo, today's really WTF/ sort of cute news comes from Pete the purple squirrel. Yes you read that right, little Pete really is purple.

No one really knows how he got to be purple, guesses are that he ate something that has changed his skin, but he really is adorable.
And that my friends is the news of Hollywood. Anything I left out? Feel free to add it in the comments.

happy tuesday!
